Job Purpose
Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing operations on the shop floor to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and with high quality standards. This role is highly execution-focused, requiring strong leadership, operational discipline, and active involvement in production control, team development, and process stability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Execution
- Supervise daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and operational plans.
- Monitor real-time performance and take corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of equipment and production resources.
- Coordinate changeovers and ensure material readiness.
- Monitor inventory levels on the shop floor
2. Shop Floor Leadership
- Lead and supervise production operators and team leaders.
- Assign tasks and manage workforce distribution based on production needs.
- Promote discipline, accountability, and teamwork on the shop floor.
- Drive performance through clear communication and daily direction.
3. Process Control & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Train employees and ensure standard work compliance
- Identify process inefficiencies and support improvement initiatives.
- Participate in root cause analysis for production issues.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices (5S, waste reduction, etc.).
4. Coordination with Maintenance & Support Areas
- Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure equipment availability and quick response to failures.
- Communicate equipment or process issues affecting production.
- Support start-up and stabilization after maintenance interventions.
5. Quality Assurance
- Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor defects and drive corrective actions.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with quality systems.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards and company policies.
- Promote safe work practices and proper use of PPE.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
7. Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Monitor production KPIs (output, efficiency, scrap, downtime).
- Prepare shift reports and communicate performance results.
- Ensure accurate production data entry in systems.
