We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller with team leader and transformation skills to join Edgewell Personal Care – a global consumer goods business with a portfolio of over 25 brands (Wilkinson Sword, Schick, Hawaiian Tropic, Carefree, Bulldog Skincare for Men, Jack Black and Cremo Grooming… just to name a few!). 
 
Now, Let’s Get Down To Business
Within a Shared Services Centre (SSC) team responsible for the EMEA legal entities including North East & Central Europe hubs: 
Working with local professional advisors, local affiliate Finance & Controllership teams, the International Tax group and Outsourcing partners, ensure that allocated legal entities are provided with appropriate Controllership support, and that all USGAAP, local statutory, legal, and fiscal obligations for each of the businesses are achieved. Ensure that all relevant Controllership reporting requirements from Area management and Corporate HQ are met.


Here’s a sample of what you’ll get up to:


•    Financial Accounting and Reporting – For the EMEA legal entities with responsibilities as follows: provide timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, working capital & legal forecasts, statutory accounts and Management reporting on a local GAAP & US GAAP basis, according to group policies and timetables.
•    Talent Management – Develop and align the capability of the SSC Accounting support team to the business’ needs. Continually assess colleagues’ individual potential as well as supporting their personal and professional development. Promote a ‘can do’ proactive mindset to meeting business needs.
•    Internal Controls – Evaluate and monitor all process controls to ensure compliance with SOX, thereby ensuring the integrity and timeliness of Financial Accounting information and in safeguarding the company assets.
•    Collaborate closely with the local professional advisors, local affiliate Finance & Controllership teams, the International Tax group and Outsourcing partners, to ensure the seamless integration of Tax and Financial accounting into the EMEA legal entities books for which responsibility has been allocated. 
•    Compliance – Ensure that all supported legal entities comply with all external (Statutes, law, fiscal, Local GAAP, US GAAP, SOX) and internal (Corporate policies) requirements.
•    Balance Sheet Management – Ensure that adequate processes, controls and reports are in place to enable the business to manage Controllable Working Capital (Receivables, Deflator Accruals, and Other Accruals). Ensure that all balance sheets accurately reflect each legal entities assets and liabilities, and that all such balances can be properly supported.
•    Processes and Systems – Review and develop existing systems, tools and processes to ensure; Internal Controls are effective, the integrity of financial information, and that services provided to the business are efficient and cost effective.

•    Audit, Statutory and Taxation – Manage the Annual Audit process (Internal and External) to ensure efficient and timely completion and timely filing of all statutory reporting obligations, Returns and Taxation/VAT/Intrastat submissions.
•    Team - Work collaboratively with EPC Finance & Controllership area and global management to support corporate initiatives. Proactively participate in the sharing of new/innovative practices that enhances efficiency and effectiveness.
•    This position is responsible for the German and Poland Personal Care Affiliates. 
•    May also be required to perform tasks for other Personal Care Affiliates from time to time or during colleague absences.
•    May also perform additional project work to support corporate initiatives or changes to corporate structure such as acquisitions or disposals.

This is a great opportunity for someone with significant Controllership experience ideally gained within a consumer goods/ personal care/ cosmetics industry. While your experience is of course important, we’re all about making useful things joyful, so we love when our prospective candidates are passionate about this too.
 
Here’s what we are looking for: 


•    Qualified Chartered / Certified Public Accountant (or local equivalent).
•    Graduate degree with an emphasis on Accounting (preferred). 
•    Have a significant level of experience in an accounting role with a Controllership focus
•    Strong level of English & Polish language skills, both orally and in writing.
•    Strong level of numeracy and experience performing quantitative and qualitative analysis
•    Additional European languages – German is essential.
•    Solid technical accounting knowledge 
•    Strong computer literacy essential together with a good working knowledge of SAP, Hyperion and Excel
•    Team player with previous experience of leading small teams
•    Focused on delivering to internal and external deadlines.
•    Good interpersonal skills to establish excellent working relationship with a wide variety of people at all levels. 
•    Flexible and adaptable to change in accordance with business needs
•    Significant experience within an organization of similar size and complexity, ideally gained within an FMCG environment
•    Have a broad level of exposure to local German or Polish GAAP accounting and reporting
