Now, Let’s Get Down To Business

The Senior Accountant will lead key accounting activities and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. This role involves overseeing journal entries, supervising balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and US GAAP. Key tasks include preparing higher-risk journal entries, managing intercompany transactions and balances, and providing detailed financial analysis. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with colleagues and the Global Business Services (GBS) team to ensure offshore activities align with company policies. This position requires strong analytical skills, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Here’s a sample of what you’ll get up to:


•    Oversee and review the preparation and posting of journal entries in compliance with company policies, US GAAP and EU local GAAP requirements.
•    Lead monthly account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly, and supervise reconciliations prepared by staff accountants.
•    Collaborate with the Global Business Services (GBS) team to monitor and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of offshore accounting activities.
•    Provide leadership in managing intercompany transactions, ensuring balances align with GAAP and company policies.
•    Review and approve documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
•    Ensure robust compliance with internal controls, identifying gaps and implementing improvements as needed.
•    Analyse financial statements to provide insights into account fluctuations and support management decision-making.
•    Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.

 

Are You Ready to Show Us What You’ve Got? 
This is a great opportunity for someone with significant Finance/ Accountancy experience ideally gained within a consumer goods/ personal care/ cosmetics industry. While your experience is of course important, we’re all about making useful things joyful, so we love when our prospective candidates are passionate about this too.
 
Here’s what we are looking for: 


•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
•    Accounting experience
•    Advanced Excel skills, with demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data.
•    Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and its practical application.
•    At least basic tax knowledge (VAT, CIT)
•    Proven experience in a US publicly listed company is preferred.
•    Proficiency with advanced accounting software, including SAP, Blackline, and Hyperion, is a strong plus.
•    Experience with financial statement preparation (including US GAAP to local GAAP reconciliation) is a plus.
•    Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
•    Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
•    Experience with intercompany accounting, multi-currency transactions, and financial analysis.
•    Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to provide actionable insights.
•    Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting activities.
