Job Description

Position Summary

DTC Manager is responsible for any DTCs (Direct-To-Consumer), such as Schick.jp, jp.bulldogskincare.com, etc. This person is responsible for both promoting CRM activities and achieving Sales Revenue Goal.

Universal Accountabilities

Overview:

  • Lead strategic development of Schick Japan’s any DTC business (such as Schick.jp, jp.bulldogskincare.com, etc)

 

Strategy building:

  • Develop mid-long-term strategies how DTC to contribute to the overall company’s business goals. (Top line and GM)
  • Develop annual action plans and set the KPIs.
  • Proactively develop hypotheses of “Path to success”, set up meaningful KPIs and align with Manager and stakeholders, through holistic understanding of business structure.

 

Platform Development:

  • Schick’ DTC store is based on Shopify and still at nascent stage. Store Manager is responsible for developing new features and fixing glitches that would improve Sales and other KPIs, by working together with external developers and internal stakeholders.
  • Bulldog Skincare DTC store is now under construction. (Depending on the timing to join the team) Co-lead the project with Digital Marketing Manager to implement the current brand site into Shopify and run the required applications for future business set-up.  (i.e., subscription, etc)
  • Some other platform development is under discussion and could be future potential to cover.

 

Operations:

  • Sales and KPI tracking and control
  • Shopify maintenance: register products, prepare LP and product pages and track daily sales, etc.
  • Work closely with Marketing Product Managers to develop DTC specialized products and services.
  • Responsible for Annual/Quarterly/Monthly Sales Amount goal and PL while managing healthy stock keeping level. Also responsible of ABP (Annual Business Plan) creation.
  • Work with digital advertising partners to ensure optimal advertising spend. Spearhead to optimise each digital performance ad campaigns that to deliver planned growth and give an analysis of past campaign performance.
  • Increase DTC consumer database for our business to have more direct relationships with consumers.
  • Take action plans to acquire 1st party data of end-consumers and increase their royalty.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in running/operating DTC e-commerce of FMCG products with understanding of Shopify platform operation.
  • Knowledge and experience in CRM activities.
  • Teamworking - a team player who is happy to roll-up their sleeves and participate at all levels of marketing
  • Fluent in English (speaking and wiring), native Japanese
  • A Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and get things done.
  • Strong communication skill while being a digital savvy. Being able to enjoy work independently, and in a team environment.
  • A strong aptitude for analysing data as a route to testing ideas, refining customer understanding, building segments, and figuring out the best mechanics to drive sales, awareness, and engagement
  • Have an adequate presentation / reporting skill to visualize things such as Project Plan, Business Situation to get aligned with Manager and stakeholders

 

  • ​​Can enjoy working through ambiguity and knows how to acquire information independently and create action plans
  • Experience in working in a Global team with English communication.

 

Working Relationships

  • Reports to  Marketing Communication Manager, Marketing.
  • Co-lead the DTC project with Digital Marketing manager (specific responsibilities are different)
  • Business Partners: Site developers, Digital Ad Agencies, Material Suppliers, Logistic Company
  • Work closely with internal team such as Marketing Product Team, IT, Supply Chain, Finance, Call Centre, Procurement Team, etc
