Position Summary

We are seeking a Paraprofessional or Administrative Assistant to perform a wide range of tax department functions, manage responsibilities of an office and duties for management.  We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable being a member of a team.  The ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules and managing administrative support, is essential in this position.  The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized.  Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position.   

Specific Accountabilities

  • Monitor all tax calendars to ensure all due dates and requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare and file annual reports with the help of other tax professionals in the department.
  • Generate memos, emails and reports when appropriate.
  • Manage expense reports, travel plans and other department administrative needs.
  • Process and coordinate payments and mailing of various returns.
  • Respond and prepare correspondence to various third parties.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, including coordination with other departments.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.  Experience in public accounting and/or corporation tax department a plus.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and in written form, within the organization as well as externally. 
  • Team player with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Working Relationships

  • Will partner with Tax Department team and External Advisors.

Work Environment

  • No travel requirements
  • Office setting – frequent sitting
