Position Summary

The Director, BI will be responsible for providing overall leadership and expertise in the areas of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse tools along with architecture planning and BI solution delviery across the globe for Edgewell. In this high impact role, the Director defines the vision, design and development of BI/DW solutions for our business functions, and has complete life cycle (SDLC) experience in BI/DW over multiple projects. The Director must possess strong technical skills, balanced with a strong understanding of Consumer Goods Industry data needs/trends.


  • Lead and define the vision and strategy of data analytics & business intelligence teams
  • Manage overall BI footprint across SAP BW/HANA, BOBJ, Azure and define best architecture and processes to support the same
  • Oversee and manage a team of IT colleagues (analysts, developers, leads, architects) across multiple areas (i.e. geographies) and/or functional areas (SAP Business Warehousing, BI/Bobj, MSBI, Azure, Data Architecture)
  • Lead the business and IT teams to establish the ongoing development, enhancement, and operations of a business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insights
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and senior leaders across the company to define information needs, develop business cases and priorities, and manage service levels across the BI footprint
  • Lead the BI team to establish the ongoing development, enhancement, and operations of a business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insight.
  • Recommend, define, develop, and implement effective visual reports, dashboards and KPIs to guide users through a compelling data-driven story (using PBI, BOBJ and/or other visuslization tools)
  • Work with regional and functional Data and analytics business teams to drive self-service BI
  • Make plans and deploy advanced analytics within Edgewell
  • Manage external vendors that support BI footprint
  • Mentor team on development & career growth, and be a strong people leader

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA, BS Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering
  • 10+ years experience of implementation of BI/DW architecture and BI applications in an enterprise data warehouse environment (SAP BW/HANA and Azure preferred)
  • 10+ years experience developing/managing BI/DW projects through complete SDLC
  • Expert level knowledge of Data Warehousing, Analytics Reporting and SAP data solutions
  • Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results
  • Ability to use project management methodologies - agile and waterfall
  • Demonstrated ability to use tool sets across multiple projects
  • Experience with tools to analyze, manipulate and visualize datasets (e.g. SQL, Excel/Sheets, Python, Splunk, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • 5+ years of leadership and team management

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • MS or MBA Business, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering
  • Expertise with analytics tools, data visualization, SQL, R, or Python, Databricks as applied to data science and analytics
  • knowledge of data models, experimental design, and execution
  • Experience of the implementation of data stewardship, including master data management, data quality, data dictionaries and ETL tools
  • Azure Data lake architecture and deployment experience to drive advanced analytics
