We are looking for a motivated working student to support ongoing technical projects within our production engineering team. The role focuses on practical tasks such as working with 3D models, supporting data organization and evaluations, and contributing to the development of digital workflows and automation in a manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering student to gain hands-on experience in applied industrial technology and production processes.
Universal Accountabilities
- Program and adapt measurement routines for different products using the original software of the measurement system.
- Support the engineering team with hands-on tasks related to production technology and product evaluation.
- Assist in preparing and processing 3D models and technical drawings.
- Help structure and document technical data and support digital workflows.
- Collaborate closely with production and quality teams to support daily engineering operations.
- Take ownership of defined tasks and follow through independently with guidance.
- Contribute ideas for improving processes and supporting standardization efforts.
- Be proactive in learning and growing technical skills relevant to the role.
Skills & Experience
Must-have:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronics, Software engineering or a similar technical field (at least 2nd semester)
- Experience with technical drawings
- Basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Willingness to work hands-on with measurement systems and real production data
- Good English communication skills (good technical English included)
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working with or programming in technical or measurement software (e.g. WinWerth or point clouds)
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g. Python, SQL, or C++)Familiarity with 3D data formats (e.g. STL, point clouds)
- Interest in automation, data processing, and quality-related workflows
- Experience working in or around production environments
Key Stakeholders
- Project Engineering Team – primary guidance and task coordination
- Quality Assurance – collaboration on part evaluation and measurement validation
- Production Teams – coordination to align measurement tasks with real production needs
- IT / Automation Support – support for software integration or technical troubleshooting
- Supervisor / Hiring Manager – ongoing mentorship and progress check-ins
Important Info
- Tools include Microsoft office applications.
- Working mode: On-site presence required in Solingen; flexible days possible depending on workload.
- Working hours: Approx. 15–20 hours/week, to be arranged around study schedule
