Position Summary

Oversee the management of plant/property facilities and plant support services.  Oversee the Maintenance Department and PM systems for plant operations. Understands and directs safety, cGMP, housekeeping, cleaning and sanitization and environmental initiatives within assigned area in FDA regulated facility.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for overseeing the routine maintenance, capital improvements and security for the Sidney facilities and properties.
  • Provide mechanical, electrical, and other technical support for all building, equipment, and support facility systems.  (Includes roofing, floor and walls, power, plumbing, water, RO water process, compressed air, HVAC, fire suppression, flow wrapper, canister filling, compounding equipment, sanitary plumbing, and packaging systems)
  • Develop, implement and support effective preventive maintenance programs for the plant facilities, property, process equipment, and machines.
  • Assist in the development and update of indoor air quality programs, budgeting, operating cost estimates and comparisons.
  • Manage facets of inspections and surveys including energy audits and analysis, HVAC, electrical, fire suppression, wastewater, and plumbing systems.
  • Assist all departments in executing plans and projects for improvements, as well as monitor building systems, correct defective and inefficient operations through remedial maintenance and on time response during emergencies.
  • Assist in development and construction management including HVAC system comparison and recommendations; HVAC systems and start up monitoring; evaluate and recommend building automation, energy management and automatic temperature control systems; perform value engineering studies; capital equipment installation; plant layout maintenance.
  • Maintain systems to control airborne contaminants, noise, and other regulated requirements.
  • Manage various outside plant services to meet the business needs in a cost-effective manner- evaluate contractor qualifications and recommendations; provide quality control of contractor services.
  • Oversee the ordering, stocking and inventory control of all maintenance support materials and supplies.  Ensure adherence to all division inventory policies and guidelines as well as safety and environmental concerns.
  • Provide leadership and support to all assigned personnel.  Administer the growth and development needs to assigned organization through coaching, career counseling, salary planning, appraisals, and other means to service the associated interests of the parties involved.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • B.S. in Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years previous technical experience. 
  • Previous supervisor experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Strong Computer Skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD 2d
  • Ability to lead a multi-discipline team both as a supervisor and in a technical capacity
  • Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical drawings and specification documents
  • Must be self-directed
  • Ability to plan, organize and execute plans in a timely manner required.
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate a must.
  • PLC, HVAC, compressor, etc., repair and support knowledge
  • Good knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment across the disciplines

 

Preferred Skills

  • Non-Woven production process experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of FDA regulated compounding /CIP processes, various packaging operations, and non-woven manufacturing is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety programs, federal, state and local regulatory policies and reporting requirements.

  • Maintain work area in safe condition by ensuring the work area is clean and orderly
  • Ability to Support plant operations and teams 24/7
  • Colleagues are responsible for their own quality and that of colleagues within their span of control
  • Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions.
  • Notify supervision for corrective action when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.
