Position Summary
Perform routine maintenance to ensure that facility equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate. Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while producing a quality product.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure that the facility equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate.
- Inspect doors, windows, roofs, piping building grounds, drives, motors, and belts. Check fluid levels, replace filters or perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
- Schedule checks and filter replacements on HVAC systems and air handling equipment.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches as well as precision measuring equipment and hoists.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine and system malfunctions.
- Diagnose equipment problems, determine how to correct them, check blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, parts catalogs, and other maintenance literature as needed.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Recommend and help order equipment and supplies for facility maintenance items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all EPC Safety/environmental, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Lean 5S policies and regulation guidelines.
- Assist and help maintenance mechanics on line machinery repairs as needed
- Perform other duties assigned
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution.
- Plant equipment repair/maintenance experience.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and be detailed oriented.
- Ability and willingness to work closely with others and departments.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to document and communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and SAP
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
- Ability to obtain certification to safely operate mobile equipment (scissor lift, fork truck, etc)
- Able to lift 50lbs and work from heights.
