Position Summary

Edgewell Personal Care is looking for a talented developer to build new sites, features, and experiences for our branded ecommerce sites and other digital properties. Successful candidates will have a passion for transforming design mockups into highly interactive and engaging user interfaces, while also ensuring robust and seamless integration with backend systems. We are looking for motivated team members who take ownership of their deliverables, have pride in the quality and craftsmanship of their work, and find creative and performant solutions to technical challenges. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with front end development, be highly proficient in JavaScript, and will have completed multiple integrations with technologies such as Google Tag Manager, Adobe or Google Analytics, and personalization and A/B testing platforms.


Specific Accountabilities

  • Participates in gathering and refining business/user requirements.
  • Turns wireframes and design comps into responsive web pages with hand crafted HTML/CSS.
  • Creates dynamic and engaging web functionality using jQuery, React, Angular, Vue.js and custom JavaScript.
  • Develops integrations with other systems using Ajax/XHR, JSON, XML, RESTful services, and/or SOAP services.
  • Assists with diagnosis and remediation of production issues as needed.
  • Optimizes code for maximum performance and usability.
  • Builds with standardization and reuse in mind.
  • Participates in application architecture and design.
  • Collaborates as part of an Agile team, ensuring team commitments are met and goals are achieved.
  • Partners with the team to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.


Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of web development experience, with a strong focus on front end skills.
  • Extensive experience building rich, responsive interfaces from the ground up, using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • At least 1 year of experience developing in Liquid template/theme development for the Shopify platform.
  • Must have experience with resolving cross browser compatibility issues (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge).
  • Strong debugging skills and familiarity with Chrome/Firefox Dev tools.
  • Some experience with front-end security best practices.
  • Proficient with Git, SVN, TFS or other source control systems.
  • Experience with and enthusiasm for working within an Agile environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Working knowledge of multiple JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Experience launching new sites or migrating existing sites to the Shopify platform.
  • Experience with popular Shopify apps and third-party integrations
  • Knowledge of internationalization, multi-language/translation, multi-currency payment processing.
  • Exposure to GTM or other tag management tools, or Adobe or Google Analytics.
  • Expertise in technical SEO.
  • Familiarity with OAuth.
  • Understanding of CSS preprocessors (Sass/Less), RESTful services.
  • Experience developing within 508/ADA/WCAG accessible design standards.
  • Understanding of the intricacies of coding for Email templates.
  • Other general technical skills (i.e. node.js, .NET, SQL/NoSQL databases, Cloud infrastructure, AI/ML) may be differentiators.
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture methods and principles
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
