This position will play a key role in improving, standardizing, and maintaining the current accounting procedures. Interaction with a geographically diverse team and partnering with outside departments are necessary to ensure the identified processes successfully meet the needs of the business as well as gain operational efficiencies. The goal of this role is to become the subject matter expert across all the assigned activities as well as meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision. This role reports to the NA Operations Sr Manager in Controllership, and works closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and outsourced 3rd party service provider. Specific Accountabilities

  • In charge of all topics related to inventory.
    • Standard cost review
    • PPV Analysis
    • Inventory reporting
    • SOX Compliance
  • Record/review journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare/review monthly account reconciliations, and quarterly and year-end reports, and assist with Balance Sheet review.
  • Identify and resolve variances found in balance sheet reconciliations and/or monthly financial reviews.
  • Respond timely as well as provide services and records for inspection by internal and external auditors to facilitate operational and year-end audits as well as unscheduled statutory audits by federal or provincial agencies.
  • Dive into the details and identify difficulties, eliminate inefficiencies by revamping processes and utilization of internal systems and tools.
  • Direct offshore accounting team performing tasks for assigned general accounting including training, review of work product, and collaborating with Infosys team leads to ensure that outsourced tasks are completed timely, accurately, and strictly adhere to EPC Policies and SOX controls.
  • Assist with implementation of suggested improvements.
  • Assist and support multiple ad-hoc projects and reports as they arise.
  • Ensure that all critical processes are thoroughly documented and shared with the outsourced team proactively.
  • Partner with Internal Audit to ensure strict compliance with EPC SOX controls and procedures.
  • Act as the main point of contact between Ops Accounting and Ops Finance.
  • Willingness to adapt to change in a fast paced environment with multiple moving pieces.

 

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting.
  • 4 years of manufacturing/relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in understanding US GAAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and provide a comprehensive analysis of financial statements.
  • Exposure to consolidations/eliminations and foreign currencies is a plus.
  • In-depth experience with SAP preferably with the use of S4/Hana.
  • Advance skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • Prior consumer packaged goods experience
  • Blackline, SAP and HFM experience.
  • Data mining skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and work effectively with team members and various key stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle several projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to articulate in a clear and concise manner across various levels of the organization.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 -  $100,000.  Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
