Position Summary

Sr. Director of Procurement - Marketing, Sales and eCommerce Services, is responsible for facilitating the sourcing strategy, agency relations and performance management for all spend related to Marketing and Corporate services in N. America. This is a critical leadership role that will engage with key stakeholders and procurement teams in both North America and globally and require a high degree of influence and collaboration to ensure business needs are clearly understood and met. The position would be responsible for developing global category intelligence, business needs, competitive benchmarking and spend analytics to be disseminated throughout lines of businesses and regions.

 

This is a leadership role with responsibilities to mentor and coach members of procurement team in development of skills, knowledge and strategies. The role is part of Global Procurement Leadership Team with additional responsibilities to drive overall Strategic Roadmap for Procurement organization and driving key strategic long- term initiatives.

 

Essential Functions

  • Spend responsibilities ~>$450MM in N. America. Responsible for leading team of category managers, director and managing across the Marketing, Sales, eCommerce, TPP,  Displays, MRO/Capex and Corporate services
  • Build and develop relationships with internal business partners, ensuring strategic insights are leveraged and value is delivered
  • Develop category procurement strategy, goals and savings targets in line with company strategy and procurement best-practices
  • Identify all category level risks, issues and mitigation plans, and communicate / escalate all relevant items to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies including the setting of targets, timelines and resource plans
  • Lead category management activities including negotiations, analyze category risks, issues, and mitigation plans
  •  Be a driving force, inspiration and coordinator for continuous process improvements; help identify opportunities to increase efficiency and eliminate non-value add activities
  • Drive productivity and interface with executives at regional as well as global levels
  • Define clear goals/objectives and create empowered and accountable teams to design, implement and stabilize approved opportunity areas
  • Develop relationships with suppliers and engage them in strategic relationship and performance management to drive value creation and innovation

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or technical field
  • Expertise in Indirect Procurement, particularly in Marketing (traditional and digital)
  • Experience in leading, motivating and driving team performance, and ability to influence colleagues at all levels within the business, across the world
  • Demonstrated expertise in Procurement and strategic sourcing experience
  • Negotiation expertise and experience
  • Proven track record of working with multiple executive level stakeholders to deliver results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including total cost analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Ability to interface with C-level executives
  • Exceptional consulting skills, specifically in managing change, project management and presenting
  • Capable of modeling Edgewell’s leadership competencies

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • MA/MS/MBA or equivalent preferred
  • Substantial experience in category management, strategic sourcing and pricing and contract T&Cs negotiations
  • Expertise in Digital Marketing, Social Media, Digital Catalog, Media, Creative Agencies, Custom Research, Catalog, Print, and Promotions, and Marketing Meeting and Events
  • Expertise in Displays / Third Party Packaging
  • Consistent application of advanced and innovative demand management techniques and is a center of expertise to others on this topic
  • Substantial experience defining, implementing and monitoring key performance indicators
  • Strong supplier relationship development and industry experience preferred
  • Expertise in generating and analyzing business cases
  • Professional qualification / certification from related professional body, (ISM – CPM / CPSM, APICS) would be an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of the procure to pay process

 

Work Environment

  • Reports to SVP Global Procurement – Key relationships internally will include Business unit stakeholders including GM, Senior leaders in Marketing, commercial, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, R&D and Logistics.
  • 20%-30% travel.
  • Physical requirements –Office/hybrid environment

 

The salary range for this position is $176,000- 264,000. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
