Position Universal Accountabilities

CD Team Management & Development

  • Responsible to daily oversight of the Grocery, Drug & Specialty Channel Category Development team
  • Provide guidance and monitor execution of EPC priorities/KFPs to ensure execution and support team with addressing obstacles along the way
  • Provide ongoing coaching to CDMs with their performance and develop training plans to address key areas of opportunity
  • Key category contact for Edgewell with broker partner to ensure broker business insights teams are delivering on EPCs needs.

 

Strategy Development & Support

  • Drive category thought leadership within the EPC organization on behalf of the Grocery, Drug & Specialty channel.
  • Identify key category/business dynamic themes & areas of opportunity for EPC organization, particularly EPC Channel sales leadership and sales team members.
  • Leverage category & customer/channel knowledge & insights to aid CDMs & Sales team in the development of customer facing category/brand strategies that support both EPC & customer category growth. 

 

Customer Engagement & Influence

  • Direct customer facing engagement at key customers for priority strategic category driven initiatives
  • Support CDMs to elevate their quality and level of category expertise with the customer
  • Develop & support customer influence plans by key customer and ensure CDM execution

 

Score-carding

  • Work with CDMs and broker partners, to ensure key customer score-carding is being executed and leveraged, tracking against team’s priorities and KFPs
  • Streamline tracking for total channel with 4p execution i.e.  distribution, pog, pricing, etc. along with sales analyst and CDMs

 

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Category Development leadership representative for EPC organization – be the customer/channels and category expert on behalf of the CD Channel team with cross functional partners in sales, marketing, internal sales/CD, Insights, Broker partners, etc.
  • Ongoing support of key business questions for the channel and top customer dynamics with particular focus on the field sales team’s priorities i.e.  Sr. Director, Director & TLs

 

Best Practice Development & Sharing

  • Responsible for driving the CD team’s utilization of EPC data & insights resources (IRI, Numerator, Loyalty Card data, etc.)
  • Provide guidance and expertise for the development of best in class standardized reporting with Sales analyst to support daily Sales data needs
  • Share data analysis, utilization and solution development best practices cross functionally i.e.  within the channel, broker partners, internal sales/CD, marketing & insights
  • Share key category channel learnings internally to drive greater education on the Grocery, Drug & Specialty channel dynamics with key focus on Internal Sales teams (Sr. CDMs)
  • Lead for CD & Sales team’s broader exposure to total EPC category insights i.e.  Suzy survey results, CDTs, custom internal qual & quant studies & analyses, etc.

 

Tool & Insights Resources Expertise

  • Key expert for Grocery, Drug & Specialty channel for CDMs with all category tools and insights resources such as: IRI, Numerator, POG software, Assortment tools, customer loyalty best practices, etc.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS Required
  •  5+ years of experience with HBC consumer products companies focusing on customer facing Category Development and/or analytics team management
  • 5+ years of Category Development experience in Grocery, Drug & Specialty Channels (one or more channel)
  • Must be knowledgeable in gathering and interpreting syndicated data (Shopper Card, Nielsen, IRI, as well as custom and syndicated consumer insights to provide supporting evidence for recommendations/solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of sales and category management practices and principles – typically gained through work experience within a consumer-packaged goods company
  • Effective advocate for sales and category management leadership initiatives across the organization.
  • Strong presentation & influencing skills.
