Position Summary

The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide brand and sales analysis for respective business unit (BU) providing inputs to help drive decision making across the P&L. Particular focus will be placed on brand A&P spend along with providing financial insights to support sales strategy and innovation across the BU. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver timely, relevant, and accurate analysis that leads to efficient and effective commercial processes. Championing day to day process simplification efforts is also a critical expectation for this role.  



  • Provide financial planning and analysis support to commercial team leaders. 
  • Support the development of product and customer P&Ls from sales to contribution margin and use variance analysis to identify areas to optimize sales and gross margin.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales Strategy to manage Advertising and Promotional spend and Sales forecast.
  • Support Annual Business Plan and quarterly financial forecasts development and submission.
  • Co-lead monthly close activities with cost center managers to ensure accuracy of reporting and accrual.
  • Analyze actual P&L operating results and provide variance analysis and reporting to department heads and Finance Management.
  • Perform monthly review of trends and identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Provide finance support to cross-functional projects in support of Corporate initiatives. 


Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum 5 years of financial analytical experience.   
  • Experience in the CPG industry high preferred.


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Hyperion Planning and SAP (or other ERP) experience preferred.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and work effectively with team members and various key stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle several projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to articulate in a clear and concise manner across various levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).



Work Environment

  • Closely collaborates with cross functional commercial teammates and may require the ability to sometimes work outside standard work hours.
  • Hybrid Work environment with the ability to work from the Shelton, CT office at least 2 days/week as needed.
