Position Summary

 

The Senior Brand Manager, Strategy will be an integral member of the Shave business unit responsible for developing a robust strategy and execution in support of building strong brands and strong team.  Planning and executing the short-term and long- term strategic roadmaps, this critical role will be responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all strategic and tactical consumer-marketing activities to enhance the growth and profitability for our brands by leading the mining of consumer insights that create a sustainable competitive advantage. Primary responsibilities will include establishing brand strategies and achieving business goals, digital and social media, pricing, and reporting.  Working closely and collaboratively with activation peers, drive and support digital transformation initiatives including owning the retail media strategy. This position requires consistent cross-functional collaboration with brand marketing teammates, sales, finance, agency partners, internal consumer-touchpoint stakeholders, and supply chain among others.  The ideal candidate will embody an entrepreneurial approach where this individual owns the business and disrupts the category.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for understanding consumer behaviors & trends, owning consumer segmentation strategy, and delivering brand strategies, inclusive of brand positioning, architecture and enablers that resonate with the consumer(s) to allow EPC to profitably grow.
  • Responsible for supporting and delivering the strategies that will deliver out-performance of our brands in the category, enable outstanding activation, and deliver key elements of the P&L, including net sales & A&P spending.
  • Develop detailed brand strategy and plan for current and future years as part of strategic planning process including brand “big bets”.
  • Lead creation of brand creative campaigns; create brand communications briefs/concepts and positioning statements that communicate key brand health elements.
  • Lead the annual business planning process (ABP) - develop annual brand strategy and marketing plans inclusive of pricing, packaging updates, advertising, promotion, and new product commercialization. Proactively develop “test and learns” to consistently improve the impact of A&P investments.
  • Track brand health and recommend changes and adjustments to strategy.
  • Recommend strategic choices to ensure brands meet category financial targets (i.e., SGRM).
  • Provide support & strategic counsel to support the long-term growth of healthy brand P&L’s, including counsel on SRGM, pricing, product mix & NPD impact to GM.
  • Monitor in market sales performance and recommend action to achieve objectives for the category (i.e., business development, not just promo tactics).
  • Own brand forecast and coach team members to build and track the forecast.  Understand drivers of shipments and recommend actions to address gaps or maximize business opportunities.
  • Lead commercial innovation approach across the BU and specifically drive commercial innovation for the Intuition and Skintimate brands. 
  • Own communication strategy and claims for brand (s) product portfolio.
  • Own price pack architecture and propose strategies to optimize.  Partner with category sales lead on pricing, promotion, placement and presence strategies to maximize both category and brand performance.
  • Partner with category sales to identify business building & 4P opportunities in key classes of trade
  • Partner with innovation team on what innovation is needed to enable the brand objectives, driving alignment of the multi-year innovation roadmap.  Work with innovation team to ensure the innovation resonates with consumers AND can be effectively commercialized.
  • As applicable, attract, grow, engage, and retain talent through timely, effective, and consistent use of performance management, succession, planning, coaching, and other talent management tools.  Identify and drive participation in training, development, and career growth opportunities for team members.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Business or Marketing related discipline.
  • 5-7+ years CPG experience having directly lead a brand
  • Strong business acumen – ability to understand key drivers of the business and know how to prioritize marketing activities; accordingly, is consumer-first and financially minded and can quickly size and action opportunities against the impact to the business.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and work effectively with team members and various key stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle several projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to articulate in a clear and concise manner across various levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

The salary range for this position is $144,000 - $180,000.  Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
