Senior Accountant, External Reporting

This role is Hybrid out of either our Shelton, CT or NYC office

Position Summary

This position is primarily focused on external reporting but will be involved in both internal and external accounting and reporting for Edgewell’s consolidated global financial results.

Universal Accountabilities

• Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including XBRL tagging
• Perform tie-outs for quarterly and annual filings, earnings releases and other related materials
• Manage the preparation of the cash flow statement
• Complete monthly close duties including journal entries, account reconciliations and preparation of internal reports
• Drive compliance and support the preparation of internal and external audit requests
• Oversee the preparation of government mandated surveys
• Coordinate with internal teams (Investor Relations, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and HR) to collect data for the consolidation and reporting process
• Assist with compliance and reporting for lease, equity compensation, and pension accounting.Assist with technical accounting matters and research
• Assist with other ad hoc requests and projects as needed

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to balance priorities, as well as maintaining a strict level of confidentiality
• Ability to prepare quality work under fast, high-pressure situations
• Making positive and proactive contributions to decision processes (e.g., suggesting alternatives and more effective or efficient ways to work through processes)

Preferred Skills and Experience

• CPA certification preferred, but not required
• Prior consumer packaged goods experience

• Big 4 public accounting experience or large public entity a plus
• Experience with Workiva, HFM and SAP is a plus, but not required

• Highly proficient with Excel
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word

• Self-starter that works well in a team environment
• Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes
• Proficient in understanding of US GAAP; comfortable in review and analysis of financial statements; some exposure to consolidations/eliminations and foreign currencies a plus

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels both within and outside the organization
• Capable of analyzing issues and skill to solve problems efficiently
• Skillful in communicating, planning, organizing and prioritizing
• Capacity to interact easily with people, computers and business systems

Work Environment

• Position reports into Senior Manager, External Reporting and Global Consolidations
• Position will be working with colleagues in Finance, Investor Relations, Tax and Treasury departments
• Partner with Internal and external Audit

• Travel - less than 10%
• Position may require sitting at desk for long periods of time

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.  Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
