POSITION SUMMARY:  Trade Analytics is where business, innovation and technology intersect to create competitive advantage for EPC.  In partnership with Sales Leadership, the Trade Investment Analytics Manager provides the thought leadership, financial acumen and data driven trade investment analysis to empower the Sales Team to make better, faster business decisions resulting in sustainable, profitable net sales growth and market share gains.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Post Promotion Analysis
    • Conduct routine trade promotion analysis delivering actionable insights to help drive profitable growth from improved investment productivity and ROI.
      • Delivered via PowerBI “self serve” reporting and shared regularly with Sales leadership and teams. 
    • Ad-hoc analysis to address strategic business questions as needed. 
    • Collaborate with Trade Investment Associate Managers in on-going post event actualization to ensure data quality and accurate analytics.   
  • Trade Investment analysis
    • Monitor trade forecast accuracy, analyze variability, and consult Sales/Finance teams on contributing factors
    • Analyze trade spend allocation and recommend future adjustments for improved investment productivity
  • Investment Analytics thought leadership
    • Champion change management efforts for sales team adoption and use in planning decisions
    • Outline analytics roadmap for future capabilities to meet evolving needs and seize new opportunities
  • Strategic Analytics Projects
    • Collaborate with Sales and IT to evaluate or develop event and plan optimization platforms
    • Partner with Sales to create retail focused post event analysis to support Sales’ promotional sell-in.
    • Evaluate new promotional opportunities available to EPC

Key Interactions:

The Manager, Trade Investment Analytics will have key relationships with Directors and Managers across the Commercial Team (Sales, Sales Ops, BU Sales Strategy/Marketing and Finance).

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 10+ years of experience working in the Consumer Package Goods industry, with at least 2 in trade promotion analysis, Sales, Category Management or sales finance
  • Strong experience with Trade Promotion planning and management systems.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and analyze syndicated data.   
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data to develop solutions to business issues.
