Position Summary

Manager SAP Technology and Architecture will be responsible for the strategy, architecture and health of the SAP platform. This lead position will work closely with the IT leadership, vendors, and the managed services team to align global business strategies with enterprise IT and SAP technical strategies. Manager SAP Technology and Architecture will lead SAP Basis strategy and architectural goals within the global organization, including education and communication with business partners and stakeholders within the enterprise.

Manager SAP Technology and Architecture will have full accountability for daily operations of the SAP Basis Services, processes, technologies and service providers’ relationships while partnering with business unit and other functional stakeholders. The position will be responsible for multiple aspects of the SAP Basis landscape including performance, project management, architecture, and strategy. Ultimately, the position will work collaboratively with others within and outside of their function to achieve goals, improve processes, and optimize basis operations.

Additionally, the Manager SAP Technology and Architecture will be responsible for setting and enforcing SAP development standards to leverage IT best practices, methodologies, standards, and guiding principles to meet development and support needs ensuring the health and upgradability of the landscape.


  • Define capability roadmaps and strategies to support the delivery of the value chains’ strategies
  • Propose, define and deliver projects that enable the capability roadmap and strategies, in support of the aims of the value chains
  • Provide hands-on leadership and operational support of the SAP Basis Administration for SAP Landscape
  • Provide leadership for resolving BASIS issues, optimizing services and ensuring the availability, performance & security of critical business systems.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, guide the creation of innovative solutions on time and within cost objectives and provide technical leadership.
  • Manages periodic maintenance activities, refreshes, patching, and upgrades.
  • Engineer and run SAP infrastructure to meet performance, security, high availability, scalability and other requirements.
  • Interact with business analysts and developers to ensure the overall infrastructure design of business applications meets requirements of performance, security and high availability.
  • Work with third-party vendor products teams (SAP and partners) to resolve any issues.
  • Demonstrate a deep appreciation of new/emerging technology, and how it could be used to deliver business outcomes.
  • Must be an ABAP expert with additional knowledge and skills with PI/PO, FIORI, CDS and other related S4 development tools and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Fiori App design and development
  • Experience with SAP BW is helpful
  • Collaborate with IT and Business leadership to develop and execute architectural roadmap on complex projects
  • Ensure a stable, performance tuned SAP environment that is fully secured in the event of catastrophic event.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to architectural and quality standards throughout solution development lifecycle.
  • Foster strong alignment and collaboration between business partner teams, solution design teams and solution development project teams.
  • Provide strategic consultancy and direction to projects throughout solution development lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationship with strategic application development partner.
  • Ensures that SAP security architecture is in line with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Facilitates internal and external audits as requested
  • Overall management of the SAP hosting relationship with external partners.

  • Be a thought leader for leveraging applications in general and SAP in particular to solve business and IT problems including process automation, improving efficiencies and reducing costs
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to articulate and present different points-of-views on various technologies
  • Time management skills are a must; as well as the ability to be flexible and creative
  • Ability to manage multiple projects autonomously in a fast-paced environment, flexible and creative; strong sense of urgency
  • Bachelor’ Degree required
  • 10+ Years of Hands-On SAP experience
  • At least 3+ full cycle implementations with one S/4 HANA implementation


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree or MBA is desirable

Work Environment

  • Office setting – frequent sitting
  • This job involves carrying a mobile device and may require some off-hours and weekend work.
  • Able to travel occasionally to international locations.
  • 20 – 25% Travel Required
