The Role
We are seeking a curious, analytical, and forward-thinking HR Summer Intern to support key initiatives focused on innovation, process optimization, and digital enablement across the Human Resources function. This role offers hands-on experience in improving HR operations, enhancing employee experience, and contributing to transformation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with HR teams (e.g., Talent, Total Rewards, Inclusion & Belonging) to identify process improvement opportunities across the employee lifecycle
- Map and analyze current HR processes; recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, scalability, and user experience
- Support the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process flows
- Leverage tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS platforms) to analyze data and generate insights
- Assist in piloting and implementing automation or digital solutions (e.g., workflow tools, AI-enabled solutions)
- Conduct research on emerging HR technologies and industry best practices and apply to real cases
- Contribute to change management and communication plans for new initiatives
- Prepare presentations and updates for HR leadership
Learning Objectives:
- Gain exposure to end-to-end HR operations and transformation initiatives
- Develop skills in process mapping, continuous improvement, and data analysis
- Understand how HR drives business outcomes through innovation and efficiency
- Build executive communication and storytelling capabilities
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Data Analytics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interest in process improvement, HR technology, or digital transformation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Exposure to process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking)
- Experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio)
- Familiarity with HR systems (SAP SuccessFactors)
Work Environment:
- Model: This is a hybrid role designed to balance flexibility with team collaboration.
- Schedule: The intern is expected to be in-office 3 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday, with the remaining 2 days working remotely. Working from either Shelton, CT or NYC.
- Culture: A collaborative, fast-paced corporate office environment that encourages curiosity and networking with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
