Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Director, Global Data Strategist to join the Edgewell team. As the Director, Global Data Strategy, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation and management of our global data strategy. Reporting to the SVP, Global eCommerce, the successful candidate will primarily focus on driving business results through development and execution of world class analytics to meet evolving business needs. They will lead the data strategy for the Global Growth & Innovation team, providing leadership in applying and scaling analytic techniques & data management to deliver actionable insights. They will work with global and regional stakeholders, and in partnership with the Head of IT will build the infrastructure to provide critical data in support of consumer centricity, digital transformation, and business growth. The role requires the ability to find the story within the data and translate technical concepts into simple yet impactful reporting & understandable recommendations. The successful candidate is results driven who empowers strategic decision making through detailed analysis, insights, and reporting on key performance indicators.

 

Accountabilities

  • Lead the strategy and implementation of EPC’s global approach to leveraging data & analytics to generate consumer & business insights through our digitally enabled business transformation.
  • Assess the current landscape of data practices and build a robust and comprehensive strategy for our global consumer & POS data that defines analytics requirements and end-user reporting
  • Develop, manage and execute analytics strategy and set in place detailed dashboards that enables broad visibility and provides ease of access and usage; establish governance and implement best practices in data management to uphold data integrity.
  • Partner with IT and cross-functional stakeholders in the recommendation and implementation of a Tech Stack approach, owned or outsourced, for hosting data centrally, including developing a global CRM strategy on collection and storage of digital consumer data.
  • Develop and manage the global strategy relating to POS data, working with regional teams to help optimize data sources & recommend B&M vs. eComm/omnichannel measurement approaches, to meet the global business reporting needs across markets and key segments.
  • Work with other data groups within the broader EPC organization to implement data modeling techniques and tools to analyze large databases and complex data sets, to derive insights and predictive analysis and post mortem impact analysis.
  • Serve as a thought leader and focus on developing new programs and optimizing existing personalization tactics across website, email, mobile site, app and stores.
  • Lead the strategy & process on a comprehensive feedback loop that allows us to see the impact of our in-market media activation (i.e. MMM / UMM), in partnership with Global Digital Analytics Manager.

 

Essential Education, Experience, Skills

  • 7+ years of strategic planning leading data-analytic solutions and driving organizational alignment in support of data-focused initiatives with measurable business impact; CPG experience highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of database applications and working with syndicated POS data; experience in data wrangling and advanced analytic modeling capabilities preferred, extensive experience in building reports Power BI.
  • Extensive experience in defining business analytics needs related to consumer data across brands and global teams
  • Knowledge of SAP data structures
  • Knowledge of Azure Data lake and experience in deploying advanced analytics across the enterprise in collaboration with IT

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
