We are looking for an experienced Assistant Demand Planning Manager to join Edgewell Personal Care – a global FMCG business with a portfolio of over 25 brands (Schick, Banana Boat, Bulldog… just to name a few!).  

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead commercial teams in the creation of demand forecasts based on prior performance and future sales by maintaining the demand planning system and software, ensuring correctness of data to support decision making with a goal to provide the supply chain with the most accurate forecast possible.
  • Responsible for developing demand forecast for a portfolio of sku's through application of advanced forecasting methods an4d integration of latest marketing and sales activities and assumptions.
  • Analyzes the gap between the forecast and actual demand and monitor forecast accuracy to support, coach and challenge the commercial teams to further improve the market intelligence forecasting.
  • Maintains demand planning master data and other input to the system to assure that demand cascades accurately to supply planning and to ensure better statistical forecast output.
  • Extracts Raw Data from source systems (Manugistics, SAP) to support ad hoc and recurrent reporting requirements.
  • Analyzes performance and trends, identifies opportunities and risks, and proactively communicates to cross-functional teams.
  • Initiate the development of forecast by providing insights and analysis on new products introductions, understanding on cannibalization effects /promo analysis, product allocation in case of capacity constraints and MOQ.
  • Ensures demand forecast is shared/ received in the format, level of detail, and timing required by all customers and supply chain partners with documented assumptions.
  • Generates aggregate and detailed Demand Plans monthly for Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Process.
  • Initiates pre S&OP reviews and S&OP meeting monthly. Executes the recommendations of the meeting.
  • Responsible for achieving forecast accuracy SLAs and driving continuous improvement on forecast quality for a more efficient and effective supply chain
  • Actively engaged on the demand review meetings by driving 1) Forecast alignment, 2) Depletion plans of slow moving and obsoletes inventory as one of demand plans, 3) Improvements on forecast quality and 4) Process improvements for a more efficient and effective demand and supply planning process.
  • Provides process owner competencies for the Planning function, ensuring that all processes are documented through comprehensive procedures and works instructions. Provides supply chain point of reference and training to the wider organization. Ensures that IT systems are appropriate and underpinned by suitable reports and enquiries. Test and implement software upgrades and hotfixes as required.

 

We are looking for someone who has worked at least 6 years in a similar capacity with excellent numeracy and data interpretation skills leading to appropriate business tactics. Background training or use of standard forecasting tool (e.g. Manugistics, Mercia) or a strong analytical, statistical and IT interest. APICS or similar certification will be a plus. You will also be a strong communicator, enjoy working with people, also good at influencing them. Fluency in English is essential.
