As the Senior Manager, Product Sustainability, you will serve as a leader on the Global Sustainability team and a key business partner to our brand and cross-functional teams. Additionally, in collaboration with key internal stakeholders and teams, the Senior Manager is responsible for managing Edgewell’s product and packaging sustainability goals and priorities, as well as identifying and developing tools and resources to enable and support our brands, regions and functions in embedding, measuring, tracking and promoting our product and packaging sustainability progress and impacts.



  • Provide subject matter expertise and support for brand related sustainability workstreams and activities, including product/packaging sustainability, ingredient stewardship and transparency, responsible sourcing, cause marketing and brand impact reporting.
  • Support the business and functions in delivery of Edgewell’s product related sustainability goals.
  • Partner across innovation, R&D, brand, operations, and functional teams to define, implement and manage product/packaging sustainability guidelines, tools, scorecards, etc. to drive, measure and monitor product sustainability progress and business impact. 
  • Engage with key functional and business partners on annual and strategic sustainability and business planning processes; provide input for brand sustainability and product innovation initiatives.
  • Support and collaborate with Innovation, R&D and brand teams in product environmental sustainability assessments (eg, carbon footprint, LCA, etc.).
  • Provide strategic and technical support for Scope 3 carbon impact analysis, reduction planning and execution.
  • Partner with Global Consumer Insights team to define, research and educate internal teams on sustainability trends and insights.
  • Partner with Global Regulatory team to support execution of strategic plans aimed at advancing and advocating for Edgewell’s global interests related to sustainability, climate/carbon, plastics, EPR and circular economy.
  • Support internal and external communications and reporting, including annual Sustainability/ESG report and customer surveys; develop and manage process for monitoring and tracking customer sustainability requirements and inquiries.
  • In partnership with VP Global Sustainability, support regional and commercial teams with retailer engagement and programs.
  • Support corporate and brand teams in evaluating sustainability impact opportunities and executing partnership programs.
  • Define and lead external stakeholder engagement strategy in partnership with key internal stakeholders to address/expand Edgewell’s sustainability interests and influence.



  • Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or other related sciences.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience in product development, product marketing, or sustainability required.
  • Technical background or exposure to chemical, material, or energy-related industry preferred.
  • Experience with and strong understanding of product sustainability methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Relevant professional experience working in the private sector; experience working in a multi-brand / retail company, consumer goods, beauty, personal care, or other relevant industry a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge, skills and abilities related to carbon, environmental product stewardship, packaging, recycling, biomaterials, composting and plastics global regulations and standards, as well as technology and solutions advancements.
  • High proficiency and deep understanding of product carbon foot printing, environmental impact analysis, LCA, and product scorecards.
  • Experience with product sustainability certifications and processes.
  • Experience representing, collaborating and advocating on behalf of a company with recognized external product / packaging sustainability consortiums or working groups and existing relationships a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct extensive research, and to analyze and synthesize data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and clearly communicate complex messages to individuals, teams, and high-level executives.
  • Excellent project management skills and experience leading and working on multiple, disparate projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and pragmatic problem solver.
  • Fluent in both written and conversational English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
