Weigh Up Technician - 2nd Shift

Position Summary
Primary purpose of this position: Responsible for the dispensing and accurate weighing of chemicals according to department SOP´s and batch record requirements. Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while producing a quality product.
Essential Functions
- Safely handle materials to be weighed, this includes Bags, jugs, boxes, bulk totes, and barrels.
- Dispense chemicals into approved containers using proper cGMP’s.
- Weigh or measure materials or products to maintain relevant records, using volume meters and/or scales.
- Prepare identification labels (Storage Units labels) and attach them to products.
- Document quantity, type, weight, and value of materials or products into production records and files electronically and/or manually.
- Compare internal product labels to vendor supplied tags, or tickets to verify accuracy of container contents and/or weights.
- Daily cleaning of workspaces.
- Daily calibrations and documentation of scales in logbooks.
- Use of scales ranging in units of measure to include grams, Kilograms and Pounds.
- Follow all EPC Safety/Environmental, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Lean 5S policies and regulation guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution.
- 6 months of experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
- Light mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic math and computer skills required.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and be detailed oriented.
- Ability and willingness to work closely with others and departments.
- Ability to document and communicate properly.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

Work Environment
- Ability to work an 8+ hour shift standing, bending, and reaching
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (may be above 30 ambient degrees or below 20 ambient degrees in areas of production)
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, which would include sweeping and cleaning up as you go.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime.
- Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
