Position Summary
Primary purpose of this position: Operation of various lines/equipment. Responsible for production line rate. Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while producing a quality product.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for product quality and productivity.
- Operate equipment within validated perimeters.
- Responsible to help identify and troubleshoot production equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance following a predictive maintenance methodology.
- Change over the equipment according to production requirements to avoid unnecessary downtime.
- Must be able to make minor machine adjustments. Document the work done.
- Maintain correct set-up specs and its documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Read and complete all required production documentation (e.g. Required Quality Checks and other reports).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow all EPC Safety/Environmental, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Lean 5S policies and regulation guidelines
Required Skills and Experience
- 6 months of mechanical training or previous work-related skill, knowledge in packaging/ production environment.
- Basic math, reading, writing and computer skills required.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatics, and/or controls aspects of production equipment.
- Experience in an FDA regulated environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to see a complex task or project through to completion.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and be detailed oriented.
- Ability to work across functions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance.
Work Environment
- Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (may be above 30 ambient degrees or below 20 ambient degrees in areas of production)
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, which would include sweeping and cleaning up as you go
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime
