Lab Technician - Tech Transfer

Position Summary:


The Technician role assists R&D Technology Transfer staff in executing project related work in the areas of pilot batching, laboratory testing, product/process trials, prototype development, packing of consumer/stability tests, supporting day to day manufacturing in the pilot lab, chemical inventory management, and compliance with good laboratory, manufacturing and documentation practices. The position reports to Senior Engineer. 




  • Prepare samples for testing according to appropriate protocols and test methods.
  • Execute testing and record raw data results consistent with good record keeping procedures
  • Pre-batch and post-batch activites in the pilot batch manufacturing (cleaning, equipment set up)
  • Raw material, componentry, bulk product, and lab supply inventory management and control
  • Write reports, reviews and summaries of tests and experiments performed.
  • Present results/findings to key stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with relevant laboratory test methods, equipment and industry standards
  • Preventitive maintenance on labratory and pilot lab manufacutring equipment. 
  • Installing and maintaining laboratory test equipment
  • Calibrate laboratory test equipment.
  • Fill, prepare and pack test samples for consumer/stability testing according to test protocols.
  • Conducting all activities consistent with company and departmental policies and procedures.


Required Education, Skills and Experience


  • 0-2 years of industrial experience.
  • Minimum High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current forklift license or willing to obtain immediately upon hire
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic planning, organizing and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with PC and software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Associate’s Degree in a related scientific discipline
  • Basic understanding of Good Laboratory Practices/Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Relevant practical laboratory or manufacturing work experience
  • Ability to operate standard laboratory and pilot manufacturing equipment
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate (through good verbal and written skills)
  • Good team/ interpersonal skills
