Position Summary

The Computer Programmer is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the SCADA system. The programmer will help improve the SCADA system to ensure business performance is reached at its highest level at both the Ormond Beach, Florida, and the Sidney, Ohio sites.


Essential Functions

  • Work with manufacturing equipment on an ambient temperature production floor will be required as needed.
  • Modify or create PLC programs to meet changing process/production needs. 
  • Provide training on changes made as needed.
  • Maintain open communication with employees ensuring an environment of positive employee relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams as either a contributor or a leader.
  • Ability to work with outside suppliers, contractors, and consultants to tap into specialized engineering expertise when needed.
  • Results-oriented individual unafraid of utilizing a hands-on approach when needed, with the ability to lead sub-groups, task forces or teams to effectively solve machinery problems.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Experience

  • BS Degree in Computer programming. (BCompSc or BCS)
  • Minimum of 3 years of programming experience, preferably cGMP environment.
  • Skills Required:
    • Must have experience in Python, HTML, CSS, SQL, and Java scripting.
    • Work with Production and Engineering to create and maintain Production Reports and Display screens.
    • Develop SCADA and Communications Schematics.
    • Create and perform Quality Acceptance Testing
    • Allen Bradley experience is a plus.
    • Ignition Software training is a plus.
    • Design and implement HMI graphical screens programming files is a plus.

  • Be aware of and follow the Environmental Policy and EH&S work instructions/procedures that apply to the job.
  • Perform every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, and contractors, and for the protection of facilities. This includes the use of required personal protective equipment and use of safety equipment/devices, guarding, as well as safe work practices.
  • Immediately report every job-related injury or illness, regardless of severity, to a team leader/supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating accidents as directed by your manager.
  • Take necessary actions to correct or stop any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Review Safety Data Sheet instructions before working with any chemical product.
  • Maintain work area in a safe condition by ensuring the work area is clean and orderly.


Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Accurately and timely complete all Quality checks and adequately document.
  • Follow all established Quality procedures and instructions.
  • Notify supervision for corrective action when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.


Working Relationships

  • Edgewell teammates, contractors, and regulatory agencies.


Work Environment

  • Some travel may be required to support plant operations, vendor visits, and training, etc.
  • Work on night shifts and weekends may be required to support business needs.
  • Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Must be willing to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment


The salary range for this position is $80,000- 90,000. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
