Compounding Group Lead - 3rd Shift

Primary purpose of this position:

Lead a group of compounders to ensure all company goals and standards are met.  Must be able to analyze needs, prioritize them and schedule accordingly.  Ensures all colleagues adhere to company policies and procedures.  Leads by example and is able to motivate and supervise others.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Organize / schedule colleagues to ensure schedule is being met and executed and adhered to.
  • Ability to effectively communicate scheduling issues that arise due to unforeseen problems.
  • Lead, assign, and inspect for completeness of work of compounders, CIP operations, weigh room personnel, forklift operators, and cleaning technicians
  • Understands and drives the continuous improvement process.
  • Must be able to train and cross train less experienced compounders, weigh room personnel, Personnel on CIP operations and cleaning technicians as needed.
  • Ability to examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Assist Compounding Manager & Supervisors with day-to-day compounding activities to include scheduling tanks, scheduling colleagues, updating manufacturing & Weigh-up schedules and assigning cleaning activities, including the CIP system.
  • Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify Compounding Manager and maintenance staff of any malfunctions.
  • Ability to communicate across functions and departments, including (but not limited to) the Quality Control Department, Filling Department, Facilities, and leadership.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area including Compounding and Weigh-up
  • Ability to read and determine batch requirements.
  • Ability to operate simple hand tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Compounding Manager.
  • Follow all EPC Safety, cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulation guidelines. 
  • Can operate the CIP Systems.
  • Can Compound Gels, oils, and lotions.
  • Can work as weigh room lead.

 

Experience/ Education Desired:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Working knowledge of E-Batch
  • Basic Math skills (addition/subtraction/division/multiplication) required
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably FDA regulated.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint)

Work Environment 

  • Ability to work an 8+ hour shift standing, bending, and reaching 
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime. 
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (may be above 30 ambient degrees or below 20 ambient degrees in areas of production) 
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, which would include sweeping and cleaning up as you go.
