Position Summary:

  • Evaluates data generated by external manufacturing sites to ensure compliance with the existing Quality System requirements managed through the Ormond Beach Quality Assurance Department.  
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers to ensure the quality of products produced at our external manufacturing sites is consistent with EPC/Playtex Mfg. Inc. Quality standards.
  • Ensure the integrity of all manufacturing master batch records in accordance with cGMP requirements.

 

Accountabilities

  • Communicates with internal and external customers to capture and assist in resolution of quality issues and projects (i.e., Deviations, Supplier Defect Notifications, Nonconforming Materials, CAPA, Line Trials, Validations)
  • Tracks follow up activities associated with quality audits, non-conformances, deviations, and Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) incidents to ensure closure
  • Collects and analyzes routine data that will be reported to management and other internal and external groups
  • Drafts technical reports, protocols 
  • Interfaces with vendors and internal cross functional teams regarding problem resolution
  • Writes, reviews, revises and conducts pre-approval of SOP’s 
  • Conducts pre-approval review of Packaging Assembly Specs, Non-Conformance Reports and Deviations
  • Reviews batch records prior to finished goods release to ensure that all documents meet regulatory requirements
  • Promotes good documentation practices to everyone who records information relevant to production records
  • Ensures that all non-conforming material has been controlled before releasing effected goods
  • Communicates any unexplained discrepancies or deviations to Supervisor to ensure proper investigation is conducted and documented

 

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Up to 2 years of related quality or other related experience in a manufacturing, customer service or similar commercial environment
  • Key competency skills in basic data analysis and decision making, teamwork, influence, flexibility, collaboration, customer focus, achieving results, and initiative

 

Desirable Education, Skills and Experience

  • Diploma and 3 years’ experience, or bachelor’s and 1 year of manufacturing-related experience
  • ASQ Certifications such as CQA, CQE, CQIA, CQT and/or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Knowledge of CFR 210/211, a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office
  • SAP experience, a plus
  • Problem solving skills, including root cause analysis
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as in the execution of the duties of this position, the employee may travel up to approximately 10% of their work time
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

Quality Assurance Responsibilities (If applicable)

  • Colleagues are responsible for their own quality and that of colleagues within their span of control.
  • Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions.
  • Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.

 

Work Environment

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to travel – ground and air
