Compounding Supervisor -2nd Shift

Position Summary
Supervise and develop shift personnel daily to meet operations requirements. Responsible for process improvement, training, scheduling to meet production needs, quality, set-up process, monitor jobs to completion, and general shop organization. Understands and directs safety, cGMP, housekeeping, cleaning and sanitization and environmental initiatives within assigned area in FDA regulated Facility. Promotes, understands, and directs 5S and Lean Manufacturing efforts for positive and sustainable results.
Essential Functions
- Supply department employees with daily schedule and goals and overall performance matrixes to support overall business goals.
- Monitor department work processes to ensure safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Responsible for the accurate completion and maintenance of Compounding Batch Records.
- Responsible for the spending and manufacturing variances within work area.
- Responsible for meeting the quality, safety and productivity targets within the work area.
- Develop colleagues to meet training and staffing requirements of department.
- Ensure correct implementation and documentation of department SOP files, cleaning and housekeeping procedures.
- Enforce all cGMP, Lean 5S and company rules within the work area.
- Responsible for effective, consistent delivery of progressive discipline.
- Responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects within department.
- Address all safety issues with work area.
- Interface with Area Manager - Compounding, Filling and Planning departments as needed, to schedule and expedite jobs.
- Interface with technical transfer and/or process development (Technology Transfer) colleagues to effectively develop new or improved processes in the operations areas.
- Provide leadership for failure investigations.
- Ensure compliance of processes and company policies
- Understand the importance of labor utilization, scheduling manufacturing processes and be able to meet required manufacturing goals.
- Perform any additional job-related duties as requested.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing production facility.
- Basic knowledge of SAP and Microsoft office.
- Experience and knowledge of Lean principles or techniques
- Strong technical and mechanical skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a liquid manufacturing production facility preferred.
- Experience with liquid compounding and batching, and FDA regulated facility strongly preferred.
Working Relationships
- Site personnel, contractors and regulatory agencies
Work Environment
- Some travel may be required.
- Work on night shifts and weekends may be required to support business needs.
- Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Will work in some areas with an ambient temperature environment.
