Sr. Trade Strategy Analyst

The incumbent is responsible for driving trade spend optimization to help the commercial team profitably ‘win more decisions’ and ‘partner to win’ with retailers through fact-based persuasive selling.  S/he will also be responsible for enhancing the customer planning process and leveraging analytics to optimize the efficiency of our trade investments.   



Trade Optimization & Strategy

  • 4P Planning: Promo Review
    • Assist with the business development and planning process, proving analysis & recommendations regarding customer & category mix, and overall trade planning.
    • Work with sales team to understand individual account profitability and drivers and assist in developing plans to improve individual account margin and/or overall business.
    • Utilizing the PLATO Reporting, TPA & TPO modules, support the development of efficient sales & trade strategies by:
      • Tracking current trade programs & performance.
      • Analyzing & interpreting results of trade strategies & spending to identify business opportunities.
      • Developing strategic recommendations to drive trade efficiency and/or savings.
  • 4P Planning: Customer Negotiations & ‘Asks’
    • As necessary, provide analysis to support customer negotiations:
      • Identify & quantify risks.
      • Provide analysis to quantify & prioritize opportunities for counter-negotiation.
  • Adhoc / Opportunity-Based
    • Work with the Leadership Team, Sales & managers in completing various adhoc projects and assignments to address specific conditions and situations as required.



  • College/University Education, preferably in Business or Economics.
  • 1-2 years of prior CPG experience, with focus in Trade Marketing/Revenue Management (preferred), Sales or Finance.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel) and Business Objects.
  • Results oriented analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven multi-tasking abilities, strong initiative and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to Influence the decision-making process.
  • Ability to successfully work within and promote a team environment.
