POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform all required driving operations for the trailer yard.  Complete the inventory check of all trailers in the yard.  Move material (Raw, WIP, FG) via forklift between the Value Streams.  Load and unload trailers as needed within the operations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Move empty and loaded trailers from the dock doors to the trailer yard using the Yard Horse.
  • Complete the daily yard check of trailers in the yard and complete the Yard Check form.
  • Perform daily yard moves as needed by the Warehouse.
  • Use the trailer chocks and trailer stands to ensure the safety of the trailer and the Team Members while the trailer is being loaded.
  • Perform daily inspections on the yard horse and log the information into check sheets.
  • Operate a forklift, push pull, hand-truck or wagon to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count product and materials.
  • Account for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and all attached (vehicle mount, communication devices, etc.).
  • Perform daily inspections on tow motors and log the information into check sheets.
  • Unload materials/packages safely and accurately to its receiving location, then safely transports materials/packages to its location destination in warehouse or deliver to appropriate colleagues.
  • Pull materials and product for production, warehouse, and or shipping by ensuring that label and product match, and skids are transported to its destination location on a timely basis.
  • Move product from its location or staging area into trailers.
  • Load, unload, transport, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, push pull, hand truck, and or wagon. Use radio frequency equipment for receiving, put-away, picking, returns and shipping functions, as required. Daily, perform safety checks add water to forklift if needed. Daily at end of shift replace battery of forklift with a fully charged battery and charge used battery on the battery changing station, if needed. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner by following proper procedures.
  • Properly document and keep appropriate records of transactions to guarantee the control of inventory. Ensure stock is being rotated. Assist in daily cycle counts. Assist in a yearly physical inventory.
  • Certified forklift driver with material handling and radio frequency equipment required. Working knowledge of shipping and receiving documents, packing slips, Purchase orders, Bill of Lading, MSDS, etc.
  • Be able to move (push, pull, or otherwise manipulate) materials up to 50 lbs. onto a cart during Maintenance Repair Operating Supplies (MRO).
  • General computer experience required.
  • Excellent Safety Record.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent computer and math skills.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Fork truck Certified
  • Have previous experience with SAP; Shipping and Receiving
  • CDL license

 

Salary Range:  LG7 - Starting from $18.63 per hour, based on experience.
