The EPC Sustainability Director, is member of the GTO team/R&D/GBM team; accountable and responsible for providing overall strategy for the vision and tracking implementation of all activities associated with Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility for Edgewell Personal Care.




Strategy Development and Execution Monitoring


  • Together with the GBM, R&D and Manufacturing team, Develop Edgewell’s CSR (Sustainability) policy, strategy and objectives globally
  • Lead the development of cost-effective strategies, recognizing the unique needs of the EPC portfolio of products and the markets we compete in
  • Establish long- and short- term KPIs and create a pragmatic framework to track progress against these
  • For that, Lead the CSR Governance structure within EPC including:
      1. Support and guide the company’s internal groups (for example Operations, Legal, Marketing, R&D and HR), to develop a comprehensive CSR and Sustainability plan
      2. Ensure  sustainability principles are consistently embedded  into short and long-range business planning, capital planning and operations planning
      3. Assess the organization’s current sustainability performance and identify and prioritize the organization’s key sustainability issues
      4. Oversee correct implementation and risk assessment for investments; lead steering committees for large projects and provide expertise on Sustainability issues


Communication and Advocacy


Create and implement communication strategies to publicize the company's sustainability effort and promote broad awareness of sustainability initiatives, both internally and externally

  1. Together with Corporate Communications, lead development of the Annual CSR Report
  2. Lead the interface and represent Edgewell’s interests with all government agencies and departments, domestic and international, relating to the Edgewell’s responses to questions or statements of position on Sustainability related matters
  3. Create and implement communication strategies to publicize the company’s sustainability effort and promote broad awareness of sustainability initiatives, both internally and externally
    • Facilitate internal and external communications and visibility as the company spokesperson on sustainability issues. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., CEO, CHRO, VP Supply Chain and Operations, VP Investor Relations, Sr Manager Internal Communications) to ensure appropriate responses and communications
    • Commercial Team Support and Customer Engagement
      • Provide subject matter expert support for EPC commercial teams and key customers around the globe.  
      • Establish and maintain database that will enable commercial leads to gain access to EPC sustainability metrics that are required in their markets/customers.
    • Employee Engagement:
      • Working with HR, development and implement plans to enroll the entire EPC colleague base on our Sustainability Mission and Vision
      • Enable colleague involvement to amplify efforts against our KPIs




Stay current internal and external trends and practices, related to sustainability.  Use knowledge to inform proactive strategy and plan development. 

  • Have a strong grasp of consumer, regulatory and customer sustainability expectations
  • Continually benchmark best in class sustainability processes and practices, internally and externally.
  • Build effective networks with key external organizations to support Edgewell’s sustainability efforts





Required Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate or Engineering Degree; Safety management, industrial hygiene, or Sustainability required
    • MBA a plus
  • 10+ years progressive EHS & Sustainability responsibility in a fast-paced consumer products company, including overall management experience
  • A subjetc matter expert in EHS&S with a passion for sustainability that is viewed as a leader  in the industry and able to achieve solid results - specifically in aquatics, environment, plastics, and/or VOCs is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in leading, designing, managing and evaluating social sustainable strategies & programs.
  • Significant involvement with Environmental &Sustainability Initiatives in key professional organizations or governmental agencies within and across industries
  • Must possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to think and plan strategically, with the ability to be creative and think “outside the box”
  • Leadership:
    • A thorough leadership track record demonstrated by proven results through collaboration and empowerment
    • Energetic leader able to rally the team behind a common vision that includes accuracy, attention to detail, empowerment, sense of urgency and achievement of outstanding results
  • Communication:
    • Must be able to articulate and implement a vision and motivate team members to achieve department goals & objectives
    • Ability to present information clearly and train others
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work and influence cross-functionally as well as internationally
  • Must have strong people management skills, leading and developing a team of technical professionals.
  • Travel required - estimate +35%
