POSITION SUMMARY:

 

With minimal supervision, plan, perform and supervise engineering, design, and other technical/administrative tasks

Involved in the concept, development, prototyping, and launch of new products.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Develop the next generation of EPC products, by conceiving, designing, and validating new product technology to yield performance gains and tangible consumer benefits.  Requires an ability to quickly identify a product concept’s critical functions and develop methods to demonstrate proof-of-feasibility to maximize learning. 

 

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct conceptual 2D & 3D engineering design and analysis to test feasibility of new concepts
  • Devise and build breadboard product concepts and/or test apparatus in a laboratory setting
  • Participate as a member of a cross-functional project team(s) and at times may be leader of a team
  • Work with Legal to file associated IP for unique product inventions
  • Synthesize consumer research and translate into product ideas through group brainstorming
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering support to various groups within RD&E and Operations
  • Direct activities of support groups (e.g Metrology, Pilot Lab, Tool Room) to prepare components for testing
  • Clearly communicate technical and non-technical information in written, verbal, and visual formats
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects, providing progress updates against technical/cost/schedule goals
  • Works in an environment and culture in which Engineers will:
    • Foster Program Management, teamwork and synergy in relationships with other technical groups, Manufacturing, Q.C., and Marketing.
    • Be willing to recommend taking reasonable risks in order to gain improvement (timeliness, quality, simplicity, innovation) for new product activities.
    • Foster an environment of innovation for new products that are market as well as technically driven
    • Keep abreast of new technologies

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field (as applicable for specific discipline)
  • A minimum of 3 years’ of experience

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, along with engineering software, CAD, and engineering metrology/test equipment
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuitry, electro-mechanical interfaces, and analog/digital communication protocols
  • Working knowledge computer science and programming
  • Proficiency in Creo 5.0, Solidworks 2018, or equivalent 3D CAD software package
  • Statistical data analysis and visualization (Minitab, PowerBI beneficial)
  • Computer Programming Languages (LabView, Python, C#, and/or VBA)
  • Good mechanical and electronics aptitude
  • Technical problem solving and troubleshooting of custom lab equipment
