POSITION SUMMARY:

A key member of the Product Development team, partnering with Design, Tooling and Automation Engineering to deliver failure-free product designs, tooling and processes. Involved with development and implementation of complex plastic injection molding, high speed/high volume assembly, liquid-filling and packaging, across a broad product portfolio of innovative consumer products.

 

This position will be hybrid with onsite presence at our Milford, CT plant Tuesdays & Wednesdays, with the additional ability to come into the plant as needed for projects

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Be accountable for all assigned Reliability Engineering deliverables from concept through production
  • Execute all Advanced Quality Planning and designing for reliability activities for complex, simultaneous product programs; exhibit proficient understanding and application of most or all elements of Advanced Quality Planning
  • Interact daily with product/process/tooling/manufacturing engineers on shared goals; represent Reliability Engineering at Program Meetings led by senior managers
  • Participate in product and process design reviews, advocating for consumer wants and needs
  • Lead or participate in the innovation of consumer-focused processes and protocols for continuous Improvement
  • Execute or support product and process validation including lean testing methods and analysis
  • Demonstrate a strong voice in cross-functional environment, advocating for consumer-centric decision making and lean approaches; behave decisively and be adpatable to change
  • Occasionally will oversee the operation and personnel of an engineering lab

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field required
  • Two or more years working in a product development environment preferred

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficient with structured problem-solving technique(s), widely experienced in solving technical problems in a structured manner and leading problem-solving teams
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Minitab
  • Trained in structured problem-solving technique(s)
  • Strong interpersonally within a team environment, proactive with duties and relationship
  • Proficient with verbal and written communication
  • Able to apply plastic and metal mechanical and material properties in both development and in problem solving
  • Able to understand consumer wants in support of developing function engineering requirements
  • Able to develop consumer-driven tests that validate product robustness

 

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000. Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
