Our products range from Schick Razors and Blades, (developed and manufactured in Milford, CT), and Edge and Skintimate shave gels, to Hawaiian Tropic and Banana Boat sun screens, Playtex and Stayfree feminine care products, and Wet Ones antiviral and antibacterial wipes.

Additionally we have added a range of men's grooming products  to our growing company - Jack Black, Bull Dog and Cremo. We have just added Billie to our portfolio - a full line of women's shave products.

Position Summary

With minimal supervision, plan, perform and supervise engineering, design, and other technical/administrative tasks involved in the concept, development, prototyping, and launch of new shave products for Edgewell. (Razors and Blades)

Specific Accountabilities

Design and develop the next generation of EPC products, incorporating technology from across Research to yield significant performance gains and provide tangible consumer benefits.  Conduct analyses to improve our understanding of how the fundamental design characteristics of the system impact performance.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate as a member of a cross-functional project team(s) and at times may be leader of a team
  • Interface with stakeholders (ie Marketing) to translate consumer research into product innovations
  • Conduct engineering design and analysis to assess technical feasibility of new concepts
  • Collaborate with Legal on novel concepts to file associated IP
  • Develop tests and associated protocols to better quantify the link between designs and performance
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering support to various groups within RD&E and Operations
  • Direct activities of support groups (e.g Metrology, Pilot Lab, Tool Room) to prepare components for testing
  • Clearly communicate technical and non-technical information in written, verbal, and visual formats
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects, providing progress updates against technical/cost/schedule goals

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field
  • Working knowledge of engineering software, CAD, and engineering metrology/test equipment (as applicable for specific discipline)

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • B.S. Degree in related Engineering field with 3-5 years minimum of related
  • Strong knowledge of Creo, Solidworks, or equivalent 3D CAD software package
  • Skills in engineering analysis and computational analysis (CAE) including but not limited to:
    • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Tolerance stacks and statistical analysis
    • Design in materials (plastic, rubber, metal, 3D-printing resin) with considerations for manufacturing and mechanical properties
  • Proven problem-solving skills with good mechanical aptitude
  • Comfortable with hands-on prototype fabrication
  • Proficient in Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
