Supervise 2nd shift manufacturing operations for razor blades production,  and all related activities of your area of the plant with direct efforts consisting of providing capacity for necessary volumes.  Responsible for coordinating activities among multiple shifts.



The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Exercises direct first line supervision of department colleagues.
  • Carries out department work schedule as assigned. Insures that proper material and sufficient colleagues are available to meet established schedule.
  • Initiates and completes cost reduction projects.
  • Responsible for resolving all daily problems of the department as to product quality, machine and equipment adjustment and repair and maintenance. Suggests changes in methods and equipment improvement.
  • Develops and implements daily and weekly people plans.
  • Corrects routine mechanical slowdowns and stoppages.  Refers major difficulties to the Production Manager.  Monitors routine preventative maintenance.
  • Monitors on a daily basis performance of tasks in order to prevent accidents to the colleagues under his/her supervision.  Trains and educates colleagues in methods and techniques free from hazards and consistent with the Schick Plant Safety Program.  Provides required personal protective equipment.  Requires compliance with established safety rules of conduct and evaluates each person’s performance.
  • Carries out initial action on disciplinary matters.  Recommends the hiring or the discharge of employees.  Rates the performance of all colleagues under his/her jurisdiction and recommends all salary adjustments.  Promotes good employee relation and morals.  Conducts weekly communication meetings with colleagues.
  • Administers management policies and decisions and keeps accurate production records.  Analyzes production reports and prepares recommendations to the Product Manager as to production improvements.
  • Supports execution of projects conducted in his/her area.
  • Responsible for leading changes in product and process quality through improvements in process control and defect prevention.



  • Participates in the preparation of operating budgets and commits to the attainment of the budgeted goals in the area of responsibility.
  • Participates in the preparation of Capital Spending Plans and Capital Expenditure requests.
  • Routine communications with other departmental supervision to maintain efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety within the specific area supervised.
  • Occasional contact with vendors and service groups.
  • Communicates with planning and support groups as necessary.
  • Directly supervises 30 to 50 hourly colleagues.
  • Participate as Incident Commander
  • Provide Leadership or guidance in all areas of Plant as needed




  • Bachelors Degree required - B.S. in Engineering or Business is preferred.
  • 2 – 3 years minimum of related supervisory experience  within a manufacturing operation.




  • Be aware of and follow the Environmental Policy and EH&S work instructions/procedures that apply to the job.
  • Perform every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, contractors, and for the protection of facilities.  This includes the use of required personal protective equipment and use of safety equipment as well as safe work practices.
  • Immediately report every job-related injury or illness, regardless of severity, to a supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating incidents as directed by your supervisor.
  • Take necessary actions to correct or stop any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Review Material Data Sheet instructions before working with any chemical product.



  • Colleagues are responsible for their own quality and that of colleagues within their span of control. 
  • Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions. 
  • Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.
