Position Summary

Entry level Procurement position, focusing on the strategic aspects of Procurement for area of assigned spend with tactical support as needed for category, in this case raw materials and film packaging (femcare products).

 

Specific Accountabilities

  • Responsible to support and implement category strategies for assigned commodity and spend
  • Actively manages commodity / regional spend along with the supply base and internal relationships that come with the assigned segmentation
  • Development of industry expertise, and support detailed supply market analysis
  • 7 step strategic sourcing process, supplier evaluation
  • Understanding of total cost model
  • Supports NPD activity and innovation stream
  • RFP/RFQ process
  • Supplier negotiations
  • Contract execution and management, business law
  • Delivers to annual CIP/savings targets
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understands and complies with regulatory bodies and programs
  • Establishes and maintains key performance metrics
  • SRM – Supplier Relationship Management
  • IRM - Internal Stakeholder Relationship
  • Budget / planning / financial tracking / analytics, price monitoring / PPV / LE forecasting
  • Supports all Procurement Initiatives as assigned
  • System / SAP / Ariba interfaces

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Accounting (or other related degree programs)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to drive change and results
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface at varied levels of the organization, team player
  • Strong Excel and database manipulation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing process

 

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CPIM or CSCMP certifications
  • Six Sigma or Lean/Kaizen
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Track record of consistent cost savings / improvements
  • SAP or similar ERP system proficiency
  • Consumer products industry experience
  • Packaging & films category knowledge

 

Working Relationships

  • Reports directly to category manager
  • Close collaboration with internal cross functional groups (quality, R&D, planning, project management, operations, finance etc.)
  • Peers in direct procurement
  • Functional teams
  • External suppliers and their organizations
