POSITION SUMMARY

Operate and maintain equipment. Become certified to perform all aspects of the machine changeover in addition to leading changeover teams. Perform advanced troubleshooting. Participate in training of both Schick and temporary colleagues. Trace and organize tooling and spare part components in a neat and orderly fashion. Communicate with all shifts. Alert mechanics for emergency repairs and perform planned maintenance. Provide the technical support required to achieve standard production rates in the department.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Mentally and visually pay attention to detecting jams, defective material or improper seating of parts in fixtures, recognizing any operating difficulties and making corrections utilizing standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Troubleshooting and machine "tweaks".
  • Assist with set-ups, changeovers, and machine adjustments to sustain production.
  • Check finished products for conformity to specifications.
  • Thoroughly understand the product, as well as the machine and its functions to determine if the production process is working correctly.
  • Recognize operating difficulties and make corrections within standard procedures.
  • Perform required duties to operate and maintain production equipment.
  • Be able to move (push, pull, or otherwise manipulate) materials up to 30lbs.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection reports and possess good communication skills.
  • Operate any machine on which you have been certified within the department as directed by the team leader.
  • Identify safety hazards and complete safety alerts, participate in safety inspections, recommend solutions and initiate corrective actions on safety ale1is, perform housekeeping inspections, communicate safety violations, perform and follow-up on accident investigations, perform safety orientation and training, and maintain safety supplies.
  • Provide feedback to team leaders, housekeeping, and inventory specialist. Pick up finished work and move material from warehouse to department. Participate on safety committee, fill out work orders and identify improvements, lead safety committee and voluntary first aid training/certification.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

 

Salary Range:  LG6 - Starting from $18.00 per hour, based on experience.
