POSITION SUMMARY:
With direct supervision, evaluates component failures on all IMS vehicles, performs tests, repairs and preventative maintenance on all electronics required to maintain proper vehicle performance for production. Identify & assist in component inventory working to maintain stock of critical components for production vehicles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude associated with repair and maintenance of machinery.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools to assist in daily tasks associated repair and maintenance of machinery.
- Basic electrical knowledge of 28vdc and 48vdc systems.
- Efficiently operates across diverse assignments including all types of PLANNED & UNPLANNED work.
- Proficient in the use of a PC, electrical & electronic test equipment, most hand tools & precision measuring instruments.
- Able to understand & work from schematics, programming language, sketches, written & verbal instruction & complete assignments.
- Understand core concepts of software programs (PLCs, PACS, DSC, SCADA).
- Provides input to the Planning & MRO functions in support of process improvement. Assures required parts are readily available & on the Bill of Material (BOM).
- Active in Root Cause Analysis & continuous improvement initiatives supporting Quality, Reliability & Engineering initiatives.
- Communicates & interacts with vendors as necessary.
- Interacts with other colleagues as necessary.
- Displays excellence in all housekeeping, LEAN & 5S opportunities,
- Consistently meets Safety, Quality & Operations standards including required documentation.
- Operates equipment including startup & shut down as necessary for vehicle repair area.
- Completes all work assignments in a safe & efficient manner following all Safety & GMP policies & regulations.
- Required to work overtime/alternate schedules as business needs dictate.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in Department Safety Team follow-up tasks.
- Understand and enforce electrical safety standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Technical High School Certification in related Engineering field or 2 year equivalent Industrial and/or military electronics background.
- Basic skills in engineering computer software and test equipment.
- Good communication, interpersonal skills and report writing ability.
- Minimum I year of experience required in an industrial environment.
Salary Range: LG6 - $18.54 - $30.68 per hour, based on experience.
