POSITION TITLE:                                                             

Associate Automation Engineer

 

DEPARTMENT POSITION IS LOCATED IN: 

Automation Engineering

 

REPORTS TO:

Manager, Automation Engineering

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

With direct supervision, plan and perform engineering, design, and other technical/administrative tasks involved in the concept, development, construction, and installation of equipment and processes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participates as a member of a cross-functional project team.
  • Assists/Conducts design and development of new products, manufacturing equipment, process specifications and test methods.
  • Assists/Conducts the development of prototypes, pilot lines and production equipment designs and specifications.
  • Assists/Conducts testing and validation of designs and equipment.
  • Assists/Conducts research on equipment or process as required.
  • Provides technical support to global RD&E and Manufacturing to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Publish and maintain engineering documentation.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Basic ME fundamentals and principles of manufacturing knowledge.
  • Basic mechanism and equipment design experience utilizing CAD solid modeling software.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Robotics experience preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • MS Office proficiency.

  • Be aware of and follow the Environmental Policy and EH&S work instructions/procedures that apply to the job.
  • Perform every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, contractors, and for the protection of facilities.  This includes the use of required personal protective equipment and use of safety equipment as well as safe work practices.
  • Immediately report every job related injury or illness, regardless of severity, to a supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating incidents as directed by your supervisor.
  • Take necessary actions to correct or stop any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Review Material Data Sheet instructions before working with any chemical product.

 

QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Colleagues are responsible for their own quality and that of colleagues within their span of control. 
  • Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions. 
  • Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.
