We are looking for an experienced Professional to join Edgewell Personal Care – a global consumer goods business with a portfolio of over 25 brands (Wilkinson Sword, Schick, Hawaiian Tropic, Carefree, Bulldog Skincare for Men, Jack Black and recently acquired Cremo Grooming… just to name a few!).  

 

Now, Let’s Get Down to Business

 

The Senior National Account Manager (SNAM) will be responsible for delivering sales, profit, and market share growth across a designated group of accounts. Reporting to the Head of Grocery & Highstreet, this role will manage strategic customer relationships, lead Joint Business Planning (JBP), and ensure flawless execution of commercial plans. The SNAM will play a critical role in driving category growth, optimizing promotional effectiveness, and delivering P&L accountability for assigned accounts.

The SNAM will be the strategic and operational lead for their designated accounts, accountable both internally and externally for those customers. This role is also responsible for line management and development of a National Account Manager and National Account Executive.

Commercial Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute customer-specific strategies aligned with channel and brand objectives
  • Deliver Net Sales, Volume, and Profit targets for assigned accounts
  • Lead JBP negotiations & collaborate with SRGM to develop annual and long-term strategies with retail partners, ensuring alignment on pricing, promotional activities, and product assortment plans
  • Ensure best-in-class execution of promotional plans and in-store activation, collaborating with SRGM to analyse post-promotion performance to maximise volume and ROI on trade spend
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary
  • Responsible and accountable for customer ProMax forecasts and in-month forecast and delivery
  • Present Monthly updates on full portfolio performance with clarity around YTD and Full Year delivery against key financial targets. Be able to challenge the business for support where required
  • Articulate Gains, Losses, Opps & Risks, gaining agreement for action and driving through to delivery 

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of a National Account Manager & National Account Executive
  • Set clear goals, manage performance, and build succession plans
  • Ensure targeted Coaching and Sales Capability Development is undertaken where appropriate
  • Customer Development
  • Build and maintain strong multi-level relationships with key decision-makers – delivering a clear Contact Matrix / Wiring Plan for Edgewell in all customers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring alignment on growth plans
  • Own and drive format strategies and execution (e.g. Online & Convenience)

 

Forecasting & Planning

  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts and collaborate with Demand Planning to ensure supply continuity
  • Own and delivery bottom-up account forecasts to feed into Annual Business Plans and financial forecast process
  • Manage trade investment (including 3rd Party Investment) effectively to maximize ROI

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing, Category, Finance, SRGM & Shopper Marketing to deliver integrated customer plans
  • Ensure strong working relationships with Customer Services & Demand Planning to ensure timely delivery, excellent execution and top-class service level
  • Contribute to innovation launches and ensure successful execution in market

Here’s what we are looking for: 

  • Proven senior experience in FMCG account management, ideally within Grocery and/or Highstreet channels
  • Strong track record of delivering commercial results and managing P&L responsibility
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with experience in JBP
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Experience in eCommerce (.com) and omnichannel execution is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data tools (e.g., PowerBI)

  • Internal: Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Finance, SRGM, Demand Planning, Shopper Marketing
  • External: Customer Key Senior Personnel, buying & supply chain teams, trade media, agencies, field team
