We have an exciting opportunity for a Segment Manager (Women's), NWE to join the Marketing team here in High Wycombe. This is a fixed term contract (up to 13 months)

 

Position Summary:

 

Develop and implement strategies and brand plans consistent with the Global & European business strategy, that maximise the growth opportunities for the segment through a unique understanding of the brand, consumer and shopper dynamics in North West Europe Hub. This role is part of a European-wide Marketing team, with a strong focus on market level activity. It will operate as one team which will enable a clearer focus on priorities across Europe, simplifying and significantly reducing fragmentation and duplication of activities within the streamlined team. 

 

Here’s a sample of the activities you will be responsible for:

 

  • Brand Planning: Work closely with several agencies and manage them to create UK annual brand plans. Present and gain approval for them in order to achieve portfolio market and profit objectives.
  • Sales & Profit Targets: Ensure that targets for brand pricing, volume & value sales and profit are agreed for the portfolio and then met through effective cross-functional team working. Manage the marketing investment budget within agreed limits to deliver/brand business objectives.
  • NPD: Develop, gain approval for and implement launch plans for global and regional NPD (and local line extension) initiatives.
  • ATL/ BTL Development: Where appropriate lead a marketing agency group to deliver high impact, sales generating, ATL, BTL & through-the-line activities.
  • Creative Development: Manage local market adaptation & legal approval of Global communication toolkit incl. TVC. When needed and agreed with GBM, manage the development of agreed local creative development.
  • Media Plan Development: Define the objectives for and lead the development of media plans to meet agreed business objectives.
  • Marketing Effectiveness: Evaluate all key marketing activities and extract key learnings & improvement opportunities.
  • Global Business Management: Be the principal point of contacts with the GBM team for the Hub on the respective segments
  • Channel Marketing/Sales: Engage key internal customers on the brand positioning and key initiatives both informally and formally through the Sales and Commercial Plan Review Meetings to ensure trade strategies are aligned to brand and business goals. As required, be the lead marketing representative for any major NPD when presenting to customers, working closely with Category Development and Sales to develop the sell in deck. Manage team to work closely with the Shopper Marketing team to ensure a retailer specific launch plan is developed.
  • Distributor management: Supporting any Marketing related activities as required, with distributors across North West Europe. 
  • Market Research: Identify insight requirements for the portfolio. Regularly review market and consumer data to identify key insights and develop key implications and make recommendations.
  • European Projects: to be the lead and/or participant on European-wide projects, managing cross-functional and/or European-wide teams.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

  • Graduate level or equivalent in commercial related subject– essential.
  • Significant strategic level of marketing and brand experience (at least 50% of which needs to have been in FMCG)
  • Knowledge of the UK Market essential, knowledge of European Markets an advantage.
  • Solid evidence of managing significant budgets with multiple agencies to develop 360 brand campaigns including: ATL, Digital, Social, Activation, BTL, Media Buying, PR (change order, PR less essential in Shaving vs Sun)
  • Experience of managing NPD launches,
  • Experience in application of Market Research learnings including Advertising Tracking and Econometric modeling (Desirable but not essential) 
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills 
  • People management experience
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
