We have an exciting opportunity for a sales professional to join the Commercial Team in the UK to support in delivering budgeted invoice, net sales and gross margin within the designated account portfolio and financial year.

 

Let's Get Down To Business

You will support the Senior Business Account Manager to achieve budgeted sales and gross margin profit targets in a top 4 grocer, as well as directly managing an account portfolio across shave and sun care within the grocery channel.

 

Here’s what else you’ll get up to:

  • Network within accounts with appropriate contacts to ensure efficient day to day running of the account, while developing positive working relationships to benefit all our brands.
  • Manage promotional activity, under SBAM supervision, by owning the planning, delivery and post evaluation of promotions and recommending any improvements to deliver better return on future promotional investment.
  • Attend external account meetings or calls as and when required with the SBAM to build working relationships within the account. Through these interactions increase your knowledge base and understanding of account activity.
  • Develop & Implement Joint Business Plans within your key accounts to secure transformational growth.
  • Develop expertise in Account Reporting Systems (e.g. Tesco Link) by running weekly or ad hoc reports to help support decision making and develop recommendations in conjunction with the SBAM to optimise business performance (e.g. Reduce stock holding, highlight non-compliance, top/bottom performing stores etc).
  • Promote a culture of excellence through continuous improvement in all aspects of the job, and during liaison with all functions, thus exceeding expectations of external and internal customers.
  • Undertake field visits if required to investigate specific store issues and monitor in-store activity.
  • Provide Accurate Forecasts to the business and ensure effective communication with Demand Planning and Brand Marketing team to deliver agreed SOP, service level & working capital targets.
  • Support the SBAM to develop KPI’s and metrics for key accounts and regularly review volume, value, profit, share, distribution, ranging, pricing, space and display.
  • Support SBAM with all administration relevant to selling and negotiating within designated accounts. Examples include New Line Set Up, Pricing Amendments, Promotional Briefing, liaising with Field Merchandising Team to deliver agreed activity in accordance with account deadlines.
  • Pro-actively develop your skills, knowledge and attitude to continually maximise your potential and contribution.

 

Show Us What You've Got

Ideally, you will have Key Account management experience gained within a Consumer Goods/ Cosmetics/ Retail company. It’s paramount you share our values and will support our purpose to ‘Make Useful Things Joyful’

 

Here’s what we are looking for:

  • P&L experience within FMCG industry (essential)
  • Account management experience within Grocery or High Street channels (essential)
  • Graduate or equivalent in a business-related subject (desirable)
  • Demonstrable achievements and experience in a Sales Executive or Business Account Executive role in a similar environment
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and achieving deadlines
  • Working knowledge of UK Trade Environment (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of retailer systems e.g. Tesco Retail Link (preferred)
  • Computer literate (essential) in Microsoft Office (including, Excel, PowerPoint)
