JOB SUMMARY
|
The Facilities Master Electrician installs, repairs and maintains all types of electrical equipment, including high voltage electrical distribution systems such as step-down transformers, high voltage isolation breakers and disconnects, grounds, control circuits, and distribution wiring. The Facilities Master Electrician can also act as the group lead and manage outside contractors and vendors. This position requires a valid Master Electrician’s license for the State of Delaware.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
|
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Able and willing to do multi-craft projects, including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, and equipment installation.
- Available to be on the Emergency On-Call Rotation.
- Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications, and plans.
- Install, test, service, repair and change high and low voltage generation, distribution, and lighting systems.
- Ability to analyze electrical problems and correct them safely and quickly.
- Responds to all types of maintenance and plant electrical emergencies during normal and non-work hours.
Total understanding of electrical safety, use of electrical grounding devices, and possess a very proactive approach to electrical safety while performing all electrical related tasks, especially when equipment is energized.
- Knowledgeable of industrial electrical codes and National Electrical Code (NEC) handbook.
- Basic knowledge of logic module circuits.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

|
- Be aware of and follow the Environmental Policy and EH&S work instructions/procedures that apply to the job.
- Perform every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, contractors, and for the protection of facilities. This includes the use of required personal protective equipment and use of safety equipment/devices, guarding, as well as safe work practices.
- Immediately report every job-related injury or illness, regardless of severity, to a team leader/supervisor.
- Assist in investigating accidents as directed by your supervisor.
- Take necessary actions to correct or stop any unsafe conditions or practices.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and training.
- Review Safety Data Sheet instructions thru CaWeb before working with any chemical product.
- Maintain work area in safe condition by ensuring the work area is clean and orderly
- May also be required to assist with:
• transferring hazardous waste from satellite accumulation points to the hazardous waste accumulation sheds;
• responding to spills involving hazardous waste;
• assist with picking up lab pack hazardous waste items from laboratories, etc., and transporting to waste contractors truck location for packing;
• assisting with removal of hazardous waste by transport contractors;
• inspecting the hazardous waste accumulation sheds; and
• labeling hazardous waste containers.

QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Accurately and timely complete all Quality checks and properly document.
- Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions.
- Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
|
- Must possess and maintain a valid Master Electrician’s license for the State of Delaware.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State issued motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
- Must pass internal testing to obtain/maintain valid company issued forklift truck, man lift and personnel cart operator licenses.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical codes and National Electrical Code (NEC) handbook.
- Knowledge of Arc Flash hazards and methods of minimizing associated risks.
- Basic knowledge of PLC's and ladder logic circuits.
- Strong attention to detail while producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Ability to analyze electrical problems and correct them safely and quickly.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to communicate well both laterally and vertically within the organization.
- Ability to work well in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
- Knowledge of other trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, etc. is preferred.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
|
- Experience in a regulated environment, including medical device, pharmaceutical, or ISO certified.
- Knowledge of SAP, or other ERP systems
