JOB SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to provide the plant floor with high Quality customer focused Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) services. The core services include identifying, requesting, issuing, receiving, cycle counting, organizing, restocking & handling data entry for parts & service. Additional activities include identifying cost reduction opportunities, developing Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and supporting Maintenance kitting requirements. The plant floor customer base being served includes all functional groups in the Internal Sanitary protection (ISP) and External Sanitary protection (ESP) business units (across two MRO Store Room locations).

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

List essential job functions that comprise the job:

  1. Search, identify options, monitor min/max levels, and purchase of requested items.
  2. Manage shopping carts in MRP. Release / approve purchase orders.
  3. Manage purchases within SRM and/or with corporate credit card.
  4. Complete all SAP data transactions and supporting documentation in compliance with financial policy.
  5. Comply with EHS&S procedures for safe storage of flammables, hazardous materials, chemicals & hazardous waste and handles recycling activities associated with MRO items (batteries, aerosols, etc.).
  6. Enters requisitions for stock & non stock parts and/or services as necessary.
  7. Work with Maintenance Planners to maintain accurate Bill Of Materials (BOM’s) within SAP, fill pick list requests & compile kits for scheduled Maintenance activities.
  8. Complete requirements for adding, changing, deleting & cycle counting stock item(s).
  9. Investigate and communicate all stock outs immediately to Supervisor.
  10. Work with Maintenance & Engineering staff to maintain accurate part drawings.
  11. Be personally responsible to complete all activities in a safe, efficient & customer friendly manner & notify management of all unsafe conditions.
  12. Complete requirements associated with warranty and “returned item”.
  13. Generate reports (ex, usage, costing, etc.) as needed to evaluate stock usage and requirements.
  14. Work with Engineers and vendors on improvements & service issues.
  15. Identify opportunities to standardize parts, reduce inventory levels, improve quality or provide value added attributes to the stock room. Work with outside vendors as necessary to accomplish these objectives.
  16. Participate in Gemba audits and action up.
  17. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition, apply 5S methods of control.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

List the minimum requirements to be considered for this position:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician or in a related field or a minimum of five (5) years in a spare parts stock room.
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Demonstrate basic computer skills. (Microsoft packages and SAP)
    • Ability to provide clear verbal & written communication.
    • Ability to work independently and within a team structure.
    • Ability to be a self-starter: “See the need and perform it.”
    • Ability to work with skilled professional outside the MRO team. (engineers, vendors, etc.)
    • Ability to obtain a fork lift operator’s certificate.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

List desired qualifications for this position:

  • Proficient in SAP.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical background.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

List working conditions for this position:

  • Working Environment:
    • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
    • Kneeling, bending, squatting, etc. Using portable ladders and step stools for accessing items at heights.
    • Using miscellaneous hand/power tools to open, close, and access items.
    • Working with stocked items including lubricants, aerosols, cleaners, etc.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Infrequent travel to local vendors and other locations.
  • Key Relationships:
    • Other MRO Specialists and Maintenance Planners.
    • Vendors
    • Key members of Procurement Group, Plant Engineers, and other functional teams.
