JOB SUMMARY

 The Industrial Electrician installs wiring and fixtures for new construction and existing structures.  Works under a Master Electrician’s license when installing, repairing and maintaining plant electrical equipment or the plant’s high voltage electrical distribution systems.  Perform emergency generator operations and testing.  The electrician will troubleshoot and solve motor, wiring and other electrical related problems, as well as replaces defective motors and align motors to pumps, when applicable.  The electrician will perform PM, PDM, and repairs on plant air compressor and generator systems.  The electrician will also be required to do multi-craft tasks, such as, but not limited to, painting, light plumbing, carpentry, and moving equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Able to work with minimum supervision.
  2. Able and willing to do multi-craft projects
  3. Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications, and plans.
  4. Install, test, service, repair and change high and low voltage generation, distribution, and lighting systems.
  5. Ability to analyze electrical problems and correct them safely and quickly.
  6. Responds to all types of maintenance and plant electrical emergencies during normal and non-work hours.

Total understanding of electrical safety, use of electrical grounding devices, and possess a very proactive approach to electrical safety while performing all electrical related tasks, especially when equipment is energized.

  1. Knowledgeable of industrial electrical codes and National Electrical Code (NEC) handbook.
  2. Basic knowledge of logic module circuits.
  3. Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  4. Available to be on the Emergency On-Call Rotation.

  • Be aware of and follow the Environmental Policy and EH&S work instructions/procedures that apply to the job.

Perform every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, contractors, and for the protection of facilities. This includes the use of required personal protective equipment and use of safety equipment/devices, guarding, as well as safe work practices.

  • Immediately report every job-related injury or illness, regardless of severity, to a team leader/supervisor.
  • Assist in investigating accidents as directed by your supervisor.
  • Take necessary actions to correct or stop any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Review Safety Data Sheet instructions thru Safety Reporting system before working with any chemical product.
  • Maintain work area in safe condition by ensuring the work area is clean and orderly
  • May be required to assist with:

•     transferring hazardous waste from satellite accumulation points to the hazardous waste accumulation sheds;

•     responding to spills involving hazardous waste;

•     assist with picking up lab pack hazardous waste items from laboratories, etc., and transporting to waste contractors truck location for packing;

•     assisting with removal of hazardous waste by transport contractors;

•     inspecting the hazardous waste accumulation sheds; and

•     labeling hazardous waste containers.

 

QUALITY ASSURANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately and timely complete all Quality checks and properly document.
  • Colleagues are responsible to follow all established Quality procedures and instructions.
  • Notify supervision for corrective action if and when defects are found and/or parts/processes do not conform to specifications.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Education:
    • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
    • Completed an approved state recognized Electrical Apprenticeship Program and obtained a DE State Journeyman’s License
  • Experience
    • 4-years working as an electrician in an industrial facility, PLC and multi-craft experience a plus
  • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Possess an active DE Electrical Journeyman’s or Master Electricians License and must be in good standings with the State of Delaware.
    • Proficient in operation of conduit and pipe bending equipment working with conduit up to 4-inches in diameter as well as installing conduit.
    • Follow all Edgewell Safety and QSR/GMP policies and regulation guidelines.
    • Must be able to possess valid Edgewell issued forklift truck operator’s license.
    • Must possess valid State issued motor vehicle operator’s license.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a regulated environment, including medical device, pharmaceutical, or ISO certified. 
  • Knowledge of SAP, or other ERP systems
