Position Summary

As a key member of the Quality Engineering team, the Associate Quality Engineer will collaborate with both internal and external customers to ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory requirements. This fast-paced role will involve participation in a wide range of quality events, demonstrating the ability to problem-solve, develop technical reports, and effectively present information. The aAssociate Quality Engineer will utilize appropriate investigative tools, sound engineering design principles, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) when investigating issues and recommending corrective actions to drive continuous improvement in quality standards.

 

This opportunity will have daily on-site presence at our Dover, DE Feminine Care manufacturing facility

 

Essential Functions

  • Ensure the quality of products produced is consistent with EPC quality standards.
  • Ensure quality practices are functioning efficiently by assessing current processes and identifying ways to streamline or improve.
  • Apply structured risk and data-based methods for problem-solving quality challenges.
  • Support quality-related product development projects involving both internal and external customers.
  • Compose, perform, and document validations of materials, products, and equipment.
  • Perform statistical analysis on data sets and be able to interpret results.
  • Create and present reports for management and other internal groups.
  • Effectively perform and document customer/consumer complaints.
  • Assist in conducting quality audits on appropriate regulatory and procedural requirements.
  • Write, review, revise and approve quality SOPs.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Zero to two years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in a regulated business or quality-related field.
  • Strong technical writing and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
  • Keen attention to detail with the perseverance to see projects through to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to occasionally work hours outside of normal shift.
  • Ability to comprehend Edgewell policies, processes, procedures, systems and handbooks as they pertain to all teammates.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • ASQ CQT or CQE certification or Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, standards and regulations as applicable. Experience with Federal Regulations 21 CFR 820 or ISO 13485:2016 a major plus.
  • Process or packaging validation experience.
  • Proficient computer skills: Minitab and SAP.
  • Statistics and sampling plan background with DOE experience.

 

Working Relationships

  • Position reports to a Senior Quality Engineer
  • Close relationships with Operations, Commercial team, Regulatory/Product Safety, Process/Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control, Post Market Surveillance, and R&D.

 

Work Environment

  • Ability to work in manufacturing facility on a daily basis. 
  • Ability to work in a production and warehouse environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as in the execution of the duties of this position the employee may travel up to approximately 5%of their work time.
  • Ability to travel overseas as required.
  • Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

 

 

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000. Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
