Position Summary


This position is in our Dover, DE,  Femine Care products manufacturing center.

The Technical Supervisor is responsible for achieving and/or exceeding the 3rd shift’s manufacturing key performance indicators, and for effectively leading and developing Production Technicians, in order to accomplish the organizations goals and objectives on a daily basis. Organizational goals and objectives include safety, quality, EPC core values, efficiency, scrap reduction and the consistent application of best practices.  Must be a motivated, self-starting, and team player, while providing a strong floor presence and thorough understanding of the production processes, in order to achieve the organizations desired results. 


Specific Accountabilities

  1. Champions all safety initiatives within the departments to ensure all safety goals and objectives are met, maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.   
  2. Identifies and implements continuous improvement projects, drives involvement with all colleagues. 
  3. Provides a daily report out for conditions on the floor, shift issues, manning, and solutions ensuring smooth transition between shifts. Develops and Maintains standard work for themselves and their direct reports.
  4. Provides training to ensure all employees have the skills and tools necessary for optimum performance, communicate new process, procedures, and equipment, conduct workshops as required.
  5. Coordinates with planning and maintenance departments to schedule production on equipment as required. Provide resources for off shift activities. Arranges PT support for planned to unplanned equipment repair.
  6. Maintains working knowledge of schedules, safety, quality, cost, material utilization, and efficiency/OEE.
  7. Analyze costs, material utilization, and inventory levels to resolve variances. Develops necessary controls to monitor these areas.
  8. Provides direct leadership to ensure conformity with all company policies, work rules, and ensures GMP compliance.
  9. Understands and champions team initiatives to reduce scrap, improve efficiencies, enhance safety, which provides a positive and fulfilling work culture, while promoting/rewarding team generated successes.
  10. Understands, communicates, and directs Lean Manufacturing efforts.
  11. Promotes high level performance of hourly associates through the use of continuous improvement training, performance appraisals, and/or corrective action techniques.
  12. Handles routine issues with regards to employee relations, including vacation scheduling, OT scheduling, E-time updates, performance evaluations assistance, and conflict resolution.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering or other related fields, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Computer skills: SAP, Microsoft Office, Excel, and working knowledge of production data systems.
  • Past successful manufacturing experience that displays very good technical comprehension, which combines highly competent mechanical and/or electrical skills and abilities.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of use of Lean principles or techniques such as TPM, 5S, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.


Working Relationships

  • Works in conjunction with other Supervisor(s), maintenance superintendent and department leaders on shift, to provide direction/leadership in the achievement of established goals. May work on projects with Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and/or Operations.


Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-speed manufacturing environment that requires mobility and presence throughout a large manufacturing area.
  • Personal Protective Equipment and GMP items as required by OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • This is a 3rd shift position. Basic working hours are 10:30PM – 7:00AM,  Monday – Friday. You will be required to be on call every other weekend as well.
