Position Summary:

This position influences and supports the Sun Care Future Technology program and manages one or more departments, multiple projects, and people. This position will provide the strategic leadership and decision making required to drive category innovation and departmental development.


· Responsible for synthesizing consumer, market, regulatory, and scientific insight into a vision of sun care beyond the roadmap horizon, managing projects and ensuring that project work and timelines integrate with cross-functional departments and business goals

· Enhance our open innovation programs

· Execute continuous improvement projects for group processes

· Explore the applicability of machine learning techniques

· Develop strategies and action plans required to meet business and departmental goals. Gain alignment of key stakeholders in the organization

· Lead sun care future technology team set goals for the department(s)

· Manage project and department budgets

· Appropriately delegate tasks and responsibilities to direct reports

· Execution of performance reviews and establish direct reports’ developmental needs and goals. Train, support, and give timely feedback to direct reports

· Able to link and communicate departmental and individual goals with business objectives

· Presentation of all information in a manner that is coherent and accurately reflects the results obtained in a research investigation

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Formal Education requirements:
    • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Chemical, Psychology, Physics) with at least 15 years of experience of applicable experience OR
    • M.S. degree in a science field (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Chemical, Psychology, Physics) with at least 12 years of applicable experience OR
    • Ph.D. (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, Chemical, Psychology, Physics) with at least 10 years of applicable experience
  • At least 6 years of experience of direct or indirect supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency at managing projects and people
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and decision making
  • Effective communication through excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, to both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-up skills; manage multiple people and project / tasks simultaneously-
