Hourly Pay:                                              $25.00

 

Edgewell Personal Care is a leading manufacturer and distributor of a diverse portfolio of consumer and personal products.  EPC is focused on Sun Care products, including Banana Boat and Hawaiian Tropic; Skin Care products, including Edge and Skintimate Shave prep, and Wet Ones. 

 

Primary Purpose of this position:

Provide support to the Package Engineering staff in the design, documentation, and testing of Suncare, Skincare, Shave Prep, and Feminine Care packaging. The candidate will be assigned a research project to work on during their time in the position and present at the end. This is a full time intern opportunity.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Engineering development of plastic containers and liquid dispensing systems as well as flexible films and shelf display packaging such as cartons and blistered packaging.
  • Co-ordinate development efforts with outside component suppliers as well as contract manufacturers both domestically as well as internationally.
  • Co-ordinate preparation of package prototypes for functional testing according to ASTM methods.
  • Hands-on involvement in all facets of development of primary and secondary packaging, including laboratory and pilot scale-ups.
  • Support the engineering staff in preparing and executing test methods.
  • Participate in cross functional business team meetings.
  • Develop and prepare package material specficiations.
  • Travel may be required

 

Technical Skills:

  • Must have the ability to communicate, both written and oral.
  • Must be familiar with the use of common measuring devices.
  • Must be capable of following standard test methods such as ASTM and Playtex equivalent methods as well as verbal instructions from Engineers.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word & TOPs.

 

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent, and be enrolled in an accredited degree program majoring in Package Engineering.
